Former obese girl trying to look better

Hello, I have just joined this site after many months of reading threads about anything.
In 2014 I was 250 pounds and am now 143. I have been maintaining this weight for 3 months now. Even though my skin did a pretty good job on going back to where it is supposed to be (I started losing ir at 18, so maybe that's why ), I still am not happy with the way my body looks.
I mainly hate the way my arms look of I lift them... they are not the biggest, but they are still flabby. I recently joined a gym, but have only being going 3 times a week for spinning classes. Before, since I wasn't in a gym I would do jillian michaels workout dvds and run. I know I have to lift to get the body that I want, but I have no idea how to go about it... the former obese girl mindset also doesn't seem to go away, sometimes I still feel like the biggest girl in the room.

It works the same for everyone; get on a good basic weight training program and figure a baseline amount of calories and macros that are appropriate for your chosen goal.

Here are your best places to start:

    Beginner bodybuilding program:
    Fierce 5 Novice routine:

If you don't know how to perform any of the exercises in this program, look them up here to learn how to do them correctly:

This thread will explain all the steps to figure your baseline of required protein, fat, carbs, and calories:

Get your regular-food nutrition squared-away and your eating on a consistent basis for several months, and then consider addition of possible supplements.
    No brain, no gain.

"The fitness and nutrition world is a breeding ground for obsessive-compulsive behavior. The irony is that many of the things people worry about have no impact on results either way, and therefore aren't worth an ounce of concern."--Alan Aragon

Where the mind goes, the body follows.
