What's an avg, small, and large chest size for 6'2"
I'm not talking about by BBing standards.
I'm thinking:
Small: 36
Average: 38
Large: anything greater than 40...
anyone agree?

Depends on if your talking about the typical "athletic" build, or if your just taking the "average" of the male population in general. Easiest way to big arms, legs, and chest is a steady diet of McDonalds and Ice Cream, and I've seen some huge "fat-ceps" in my life.

well - i go by how I look.
I had a 46 inch chest at one point and had major man boobs (I'm talking about being lean at this state too with no gyno)
44 inch chest - still man boobs
42 inch chest - ehhhh...just a trace of it
40 inch chest - biggest I can have without them jutting out
38 i think is average
36 would be small...
I agree - depends on how much your frame can support. I'm an ecto - so my chest juts out when I build it upAre you aware of spacedocking?

you might just have poor symmetry.
if your legs are not in porportion to your chest (if the barrel width of your chest is less than that of your legs) - it can give you the illusion of being scrawny.....Are you aware of spacedocking?

I went wrong by not putting enough effort into growing width and not hitting back n shoulders harder.
Just a case of keeping everything propertional.Last edited by Ace_2004; 11-11-2006 at 10:14 AM.

symmetry is key, absolutely - and those standards are symmetrical and lean standards of judging myself.
the highest chest I can have without having them jutout in a muscle shirt is a 42...
I think a 40-42 is as filled out as I can go without looking strange...Are you aware of spacedocking?

I'm 6'2",240lbs and wear a 48 long. People say I've got a big chest but when you're trying to catch Ronnie you just don't believe it.

at 6'2", 40 inches is definitly not large. i'd say 44" would be average and 48"+ would be large. at 6'2" you wont be concidered large if your only 180lbs. to be large at that height you gotta get up to 250lbs. i'm 6' 200lbs with a 44" chest and i'm not where near a large person.

yeah, I can believe it.
my friend is a natural meso - he's just got a naturall large chest and frame - and he even has abs.
he's got a 46" chest, and only casually works out.
by casually - I mean just does like bodyweight exercises - pushups in the morning, for instance - and just plays sports.
so yeah....it depends on your frame.
I have a small frame....so if I build a lot of muscle on it - it looks very unnatural and strange. Are you aware of spacedocking?

I dunno what average would be.
My family are all pretty big in the torso department.
I am about 41" relaxed, my dad is 49" relaxed(maybe 2 inches of fat) never touched a weight in his life.
My uncle who was 6'2" had a 52" chest and never touched a weight (This is at 8% bf - 220lbs)
Another uncle had a 46" at 5'8" at 160lbs - no weights also
(Chest measurements are all relaxed, not expanded whatsoever)
I by all means don't have a big chest in my opinion, i look about 5 inches thick, pretty wide though.
I would think average for 6'2" would be 42-44in - Thats about a XL-2XL in regular clothing which 6'2" would usually wear.
