This will be an interesting one for sure. I'm aware of all the SWAT-ing that goes on in COD circles and online gaming (buncha fcking immature idiots) and it was only a matter of time...

In this case, Wichita local Andrew Finch, whose family members say did not play video games, answered his door only to face down a SWAT team-level response. Allegedly, one officer immediately fired upon Finch, who later died at a hospital. It’s unclear why Finch, who is said not to have had a weapon on him, was fired upon. The Wichita Eagle reports that the police department is investigating the issue, which occurred late Thursday night.

if the cops randomly shot the guy when he answered the door, the cops should go to jail, and also the guy who made the malicious 911 call.

I’m with you. The kid who called it in should be charged (if they can even find him). The outcome was reasonably foreseeable, and that meets a lot of legal standards from what I’ve been told.

what if it was a bad shoot tho? like the guy was 100% unarmed and the cops randomly shot him, that would also fall under police responsibility. the cops cant just go full retard and not be legitimate self defense.

How is it swat just rolls up and knocks on the door? Ive been on several swat calls and ive never seen them be first on the scene

I’m guessing its something like this, I wouldn’t think Swatting means swatting in Swat team terms, more like a nickname for police/cops/whomever rushing and barging through the person’s house like a swat team would knock down a door.
