Oh I know, I said that for the last year - that if the Congressional majority was lost, it was moreso due to historical trends than indicative of the country's feelings on Trump. Anything else would be more likely to have a Trump effect - and I think that is what it was last night, gaining seats in the Senate.

We're going to get two years of obstructionist legislation and investigations. If the economy does crash like some people here are predicting, Trump will say look at my first two years with the majority. If he's smart, he'll push some typically bipartisan issues and let them hang themselves, similar to the DACA amnesty.

No. The Blue Wave was supposed to be a sweeping, irrefutable rejection of Trump. It was hardly even in line with the general trend of mid-term elections (actually, it wasn't, they should've won many more seats and the Senate); The Republicans gaining seats in the Senate makes it almost an anomaly in that sense in itself, having happened only 5 times prior.

However, I admittedly did only expected the Dems to pickup around 26 in the House, so they outperformed my expectations in that regard.
