Dems took the House, +34
Repubs gain 3 in Senate.
Beto loses and drops F-bomb on live TV during his speach.
About what I thought, although the Dems did way better than the +20 I saw coming in the House.
Not a blue wave but they did better than the GOP, who was on the defensive this cycle. All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Keep in mind, virtually EVERY time a party enters with a super majority, they tend to lose both the House & Senate come mid-terms. Obama, Clinton, Bush, etc... when the media tries to spin this as a massive victory, it’s really not. Neither is it some massive repudiation if Trump. It’s status quo, maybe a lot less than what it should have been.
Btw, with the Beto F-bomb, it wasn’t born of frustration, he was thanking his supporters and was “F-ing proud” of them. Cursing on live TV will only help him with Democrats. If he’d whipped his dick out and starting peeing in children’s mouths, he’d been a lock for 2020 with that party. Now, he might need to come out as trans in order to secure his spot there. All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

This was a loss. The Democrats are on full "we don't like you so we'll skirt the law and the voters wishes to remove you from power". They aren't normal politicians anymore, they are radicals hellbent on getting power to force through their ideology. And we let them have power.
We needed the house.
When we had control we should have forced through laws addressing media bias. Srs.
I'm seriously thinking Americans (at least the half that fall for Democrats' bullsh*t) NEED the hard times they are unknowingly voting for. It'll be rough for a decade or so but they want this f*cking radical leftist sh*t so bad, let the morons have it.

Oh I know, I said that for the last year - that if the Congressional majority was lost, it was moreso due to historical trends than indicative of the country's feelings on Trump. Anything else would be more likely to have a Trump effect - and I think that is what it was last night, gaining seats in the Senate.
We're going to get two years of obstructionist legislation and investigations. If the economy does crash like some people here are predicting, Trump will say look at my first two years with the majority. If he's smart, he'll push some typically bipartisan issues and let them hang themselves, similar to the DACA amnesty.Boomer Rep Crew #1

On a county level for Harris and Fort Bend counties in Tx, Houston and Sugarland, it went blue. Lots of inexperienced people being put in to positions of power. It'll be interesting to see what happens when the next natural disaster hits.

No. The Blue Wave was supposed to be a sweeping, irrefutable rejection of Trump. It was hardly even in line with the general trend of mid-term elections (actually, it wasn't, they should've won many more seats and the Senate); The Republicans gaining seats in the Senate makes it almost an anomaly in that sense in itself, having happened only 5 times prior.
However, I admittedly did only expected the Dems to pickup around 26 in the House, so they outperformed my expectations in that regard.“The life of man is solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short.” – Thomas Hobbes, 1588 – 1679

One of the biggest things Clinton changed that people don't realize the impact it has made - compare the WH PCs vs the State Dept PCs. With the State Dept you don't see the reporters that are asking the questions. That's how it used to be with the WH as well - it's ushered in the concept of celebrity "journalists" like Acosta.

Words of wisdom on why the general population of dummies votes the way they do in midterms.
"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years.
Great nations rise and fall. The people go from bondage to spiritual truth, to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependence, from dependence back again to bondage." -Tytler(?)
