I've been reading up on the difference between the two on websites, and the threads/stickies on here and I understand the difference. But I still am not sure what kind I should personally use. I've tried a concentrate when I was first starting out but it was a cheap brand that my mom bought for me from Walmart because I was not that serious. But now I lift on a 5 day cycle, run 4 days a week, and play soccer at SUNY Oswego. Right now I am trying to gain some mass, and strength. So what do you recommend I use? I am using Iso Sensation 93 Chocolate flavor currently, and I like it and feel good using it but the taste isnt the best and I dont wanna spend the money on whey isolates if I dont need too.
Thanks guy

If you don't have lactose problems, take concentrate, check this Will Brink's video:

And of course, take care of your nutrition.

Isolates are definitely very pricey (I've seen costs of over $80 easy for 5 pound tubs ), and I personally prefer blends because they seem creamier and tastier generally. I like iForce Protean because the flavoring system's incredible and it's a blend of 5 quality, USA-sourced ingredients (whey isolate, whey concentrate, whey hydrolysate, micellar casein, and milk protein isolate) but there are tons of options out there on the market. Be sure to do your research!

Trutein gets a lot of favorable reviews, it's all about personal preference. As with any purchase (especially with stuff you put in your body) some research is always good - just don't buy from GNC. I typically find their products to be relatively poorly formulated and horrendously overpriced. Online retailers like Bodybuilding.com have great customer service and great prices and provide lots of other cool features (like this form) so they deserve our support.

Yeah not a big fan of GNC, never have been haha I learned that real quick. but yeah I think I am going to try out Trutein, then once I finish that I am going to try the brand you recommend, then choose. Thanks a lot to you, and everyone else who posted. I'll be posting pics soon, and keeping track of my gains on here so keep an eye out! And keep an eye on ESPN for me and Oswego State Mens soccer!

Both are fair options, be sure to let us know what you think! All companies on here definitely value honest feedback from our end users so that we can keep doing what we're doing right and fix what the consumer doesn't like. I'll keep an eye out for you on ESPN, good luck.

In post #3 I heard that you don't even like protein shakes. That's about to change with the discovery of Trutein. The blend is also terrific for cooking, so you should try making protein bars, muffins, proats, etc. It's a good way to incorporate more high-protein foods into your diet, and it allows you to indulge in delicious and satisfying desserts.
