I definitely have the mindset of "I'm at my best at 36 - I don't want to settle for someone whose best days are behind them" which keeps my standards high but is also a bit limiting.
I can't complain with how my online experience has been compared to others but I probably need to get back out there more IRL to bat at or above my league looks-wise.

I’m starting to focus on getting out. I think my number one drawback is I’ve been living too far from a real dating scene and relying too much on these apps.
Started looking at apartments in a city nearby with much more going on. Have to move from my comfort zone I think. Put it off too long. Also joining a running club in the city.
Still will utilize apps. For now bumble has died for me. May be back on hinge this weekend. We all gonna make it brahs.

Yeah I also just don't want to go out nearly as much as I used to. I like looking for events to attend but rarely in the mood to go out drinking on a weekend night like I used to be (and I don't think I'm going to find someone I'm interested in at a bar at 1am).
I tend to be in a better mood and more likely to chat up women when I'm traveling - need to bring that energy when I'm out and about in my city.

I haven't been trying to date, but a coworker connected me up with her cousin, and I grabbed coffee with her last night for a blind date Kinda interesting, this was my first blind date ever. Leading up to it was way more nerve-wracking, though maybe that's also just since it's been a while.

She was actually good looking like my coworker said, and I thought we got along pretty well. Not too sure that she's into it though - she insisted on paying for herself, goodbye was a bit awkward, and I wound up being the one to text afterward (just did so now), but we shall see.

Thanks brah. The start with covid/living at my mom's a bit, but my health's just been a chit show the past few years. Knee issue took two surgeries and is *close* to better now, have a shoulder surgery in 3 weeks, my hands are fuk-y (autoimmune arthritis? No clue), and I've got some persistent ankle issues as well.

Between injury restrictions and time spent with appointments, it's just been hard to answer the question "what do I do for fun," so I figure it's not worth worrying about dating when I struggled with it while fully healthy.

Ye it’s difficult to date when you aren’t in full health, especially mental health. Takes a bunch of energy.

The dating ritual is kinda funny when you think about it, it’s peacocking to establish attraction, and once that’s established, less energy is invested.

I'm so sorry to hear about these injuries. Definitely work on meditation and positive thinking to heal yourself and then once you're in a happier, healthier state you will attract positive people.
