O, I think it's also important to clearly define your goals. I mean will you be standing on a stage oiled up at low body fat in a thong? If the answer is no then you might want to reconsider all those different back exercises targeting a range of angles and stick to a smaller group of exercises.
Back for me = deadlifts, barbell rows, shrugs, and wide grip lat pulldown. One arm DB rows, seated rows, T-bar, etc. are all great but I find heavy barbell rows improve my deadlift and make me feel strong. Training a smaller group of exercises more frequently and with higher volume is better for me than more variety. Some people need variety to keep them interested and motivated.

That's how it's done.

I'm in the minority but I couldn't disagree more. I'd rather do legs after a massive night sleep and farm fresh breakfast and same for Sunday for chest.
Monday and Friday, the most ideal scheduled rest days.
Last thing you wanna do is come home starving and exhausted from driving cab all day only to realize there's a mandatory date with the squat rack.DR. 3time

Mates
Hello, mates.
Bought this belt a while back from Spud and love it:
https://www.spud-inc-straps.com/prod...se-belt-2-ply/
The quick release is an actual car seatbelt buckle. Easy on, easy off, easy to get the tightness I want for each set.
Good to see the training talk and hear of all the weight being moved by you old fuks!
Been trying to lift heavy myself, still. I’ve got some recent videos to share when I get some time. Here Lies the Rant

Alright, here are some vids.
Skwatz, 435 x 5. These aren’t USAPL/ATG/3 white lights guaranteed, but I’ll take this depth for now. This was just a few months ago, and I had been nursing a tight right hammy since Nov. ‘23 (still kinda am).

Here’s a farmer’s carry for either 580 or 600, can’t recall. Supposed to be 50’, made it a little more than halfway. Also, Zerchers 410 x 3, last rep paused.

My bench is still around 335-345. Failed 350 at lockout four weeks ago. I’m using a Sling Shot for all heavy bench press for my current cycle. It’s fun!
OHP still sucks. I did discover that I prefer and seem to do better with an axle bar, so all overhead stuff is done with one of those now. I hit 205 fairly easy four weeks ago on a strict press. Push press/jerk best is 245, which is what I was doing Even playing around with continental cleans some. Log press, too.
This is Ms. Lenco. Recently turned 50, BW about 145. She’d kill me if she knew I was poasting this for the Rant bros., but she’d get over it. She’s been lifting with me for almost four years now.
Squat 225 x 1 and DL 265 x 1:

Overall, can’t complain about much. Wrists had been bothering me, but the axle bar seems to have alleviated the issue. No back tweaks since Oct. ‘19. Knees and shoulders feel great. Haven’t increased at all/much on a lot of lifts, but the fact I’m still able to move close to the weights I was doing in my 30’s is a win in my book.
Current “if you could only have one piece of equipment” item - sandbags! I do something with them at least 2x/wk. Carries, pickups, over the shoulder, all types of squats, etc.
Thanks for reading my journal! Here Lies the Rant

It really is cool, and she can put in the work. There are several women there who put up some decent numbers considering their background and experience level.
My sons go, too. 16 year-old at least 2-3x/wk, depending on what he’s got going on at school. 19 year-old whenever he’s home from college. Here Lies the Rant

Awesome lifts, brother.
The squat was always my best lift but I've been dealing with a lot of hip pain lately so anything over 4 plates these days feels like a win.
I did pull a triple @ 515 lbs on deadlifts this morning though (vid is in the O35).
Mrs Flex trained with me for about 12 years but took 15 months off due to debilitating back pain. She recently started lifting again but VERY cautiously and no squats or deadlifts. Leg Press only for lower body. Her last competition she went 240/125/285 @ 53 years old. She's 59 now and I'll be 57 in August. I'm trying to make a bit of a mini-comeback and she's just trying to get her back healthy again.
Keep it up.Insta: flexjs

You've done well mang.
Training not only feels good with all that neurotransmitter activity and keeps them healthy but teaches them the value of setting goals, hard work, etc.
Growing up I don't remember any kids at school who were overweight/obsese by today's standards. We'd always be out at a park or on the street kicking a football, riding bikes, doing a lot of stuff that burned calories. Obviously today kids are more likely to stay indoors, it's not as safe as it used to be, etc. so any opportunity to get them exercising is a good thing.

Kinda hard to hear 50 cent and Eazy E with all the yelling but otherwise nice lifts there. I've been pulling for Luka Magic.
Decided I'd join a gym just for leg day. Best gym in the cream city. Their Hack Squats I can go all the way down to the bottom and push with the heels without any knee or back issues, just pure quad madness. But the real prize is they have a genuine pendulum squat. The strength curve is humbling as it's hard at the top with massive ROM due to the design, mechanics and foot placement. I noticed all the folks with the meanest faces like to hang around the belt squat area. Someday I'll have to give them a try.DR. 3time
