Short term options are cheap for a reason and if your timing isn’t 100% perfect you’ll be looking at a red position at least for awhile. Just gotta hope the big wins balance out the losses you take. So far I’ve had some luck. Bought a NVDA $120p for Friday this morning. I thought maybe with fed announcing they aren’t doing a cut till next year or maybe 1 at the end of the year the markets panic and sell off overnight. Paid $40 so we will see if I’m right otherwise oh well. Looks like I’m wrong thus far.

Elon: hey guys, how about this? If you invest in Tesla, I will help you 10x your money in a few years, so for every thousand dollars you will make $10,000, and if I achieve that you will pay me 10%, 1k. Sounds good?
Investors: Oh my ****ing God, that sounds amazing, yes!
A few years later…
Elon: Hey guys, I 10x’ed your money, can I have that 10% now?
Investors: 10% is too much, nobody should get paid that.
Elon: wot

Lol.
BROS, please, stop it and get some help.
I tried to be that help but what can you do?
AAPL went from 220 today to a low of 212 and you know what I did?
I bought more puts at 220 and I bought some 215c at 212.
That means I can't lose but can win 2 times lol.

~4400(-20%) is the bottom end of my target, ~4800(-12%) is the top end and will be my initial target, you shouldn't expect ~4400 but it could happen.
The S&P went down ~6% in 15 trading days from 03-28/04-19 so it's not a huge ask for 12% by 07/31.
There are many things that can cause it but it is harder to pin down due to Biden's America lol.I: Self, Lord and Master.

200p 07/26 first buy was ~2.60, second buy was ~1.10 and I plan on making a third/final buy if it gets back to 220 or above, I will also sell some/all calls here.
215c 06/21 for ~1.00, second buy if AAPL goes to 210 tomorrow, no third buy and no second buy if I don't do it at ~210.
I could have improved the trade by buying a longer date on the call but I don't think I need it.Last edited by Abzu; Yesterday at 04:24 PM.

I’ve done multi leg options, it gets tiring, especially when I see my wife just hold and make $2000 or $4000 or whatever it went up to today for every 100 shares, doing absolutely nothing.
I’d be curious how your play works out. Seems like a good play. But market makers have a job: burn shorts and longs.

You’re overestimating the profitability of option buying, it’s very dangerous, especially the bearish and Short term options. Statistically anyone who buys any option loses 8 or 9 out of 10 times, and of course they’re not going to post their losses on the Internet.
When retail expects a big move up or down, marketmakers can see those bets being placed, and they can easily manipulate the stock to not move a single dollar at all, until people get burned and lose their money.
