I never understood his appeal. What little I've seen of him is him as a permabull.

he just gives a cut and dry philosophy that is 100% successful if followed. simple, easy to understand, works on a broad scale without any variables. it's like if you had somebody that just wants to hear about finances and crap for 30 minutes...and never think of it again....you tell them something in line with ramsey talk and they'll be fine for life.

your avg. person doesn't have the capital to buy a) car b) college c) home
your median income for a single person is like 30k
if you have capital that's a huge head start. when you make so little it takes a chitload of time to "save" and then even when you do "save" all of your money is gone. so take 5 years to save 5k then spend it all and now youre back to 0
that's huge.. like having a car @ 16 and then getting a job so now you have both capital.. and a car
its a hard cycle to break without help

For the obvious starting reason, I've only been fully debt-free for 4 years, not 35. I also have no interest in real estate ownership, which general has higher returns in the long run (if done right).
Why are you so fixated on my numbers, so you can craft a fictional scenario about what I know is my actual life? You have a theoretical opinion, I have actual experience. By the way - what's your actual experience and net worth following your plan? (Has that already been answered, and I missed it?)

I just watched another youtube short from ramsey
Also.. why is even an arbitrary number the barometer for wealth?
Is someone who has the material items he wants, a 500k dollar house and nice car really poorer than someone who just has 1 million cash?
Whats the point of the money if you dont use it
So say some ******* lives like a miser and dies with more money.. is that better than someone who enjoyed life?
I know some of this arbitrary and undefined but still
Now im not saying reusing the $ for more $ is dumb but im just saying..
Its quite possible someone with a nice car and 100k is happier than someone in a chitty car and 100k

The point of Dave Ramsey's advice is to get out of debt quickly, so we can enjoy life now while also investing for the future...
Millionaire isn't a destination, it's an easily recognized milestone - which most people have been fooled into believing is impossible to achieve.
