BigTallOx's long drive golf training log

I was keeping my training log over in the 35 and older group, but since I"m not training for bodybuilding, but long drive golf, I'm putting here because maybe it's more appropriate. Just to be clear, my training goal is not bodybuilding, but to hit my driver 400 yards ( or over ), ideally in...

Complete life change (and of course, get shredded)

Hey guys, I always had this "I need to start working out", "I will be fit" thing since the beginning of high school but it took me until I became 24 to actually start. I did achieve significant results by running and doing something called GAPS diet but I couldn't sustain it and in about 1.5...

Repeat Shoulder Dislocations

I can't go back to the orthopedic surgeon I've seen twice in good faith for this because I refuse to go for a third surgery. The past two Decembers I've had arthroscopic labral repairs on my right shoulder. First one went great but it fully dislocated again playing hockey so I went for round two...

Smile climb the world

Climbing is a sport of strength, finesse, and intelligence. The necessary strength extends beyond conventional weightlifting definitions of strength. As someone who clean and jerked 120+ kg in high school, I was inexplicably humbled on my first day of climbing as I struggled through a beginner...

Nothing Special: Jiu Jitsu and Stronglifts 5x5

Picked up Brazilian Jiu Jitsu upon moving to LA from my hometown of Chicago in Nov of 2017 and I'm pretty much obsessed with it now. For any one that may be reading and isn't familiar with the sport, BJJ is essentially submission grappling largely in the context of ground fighting. I'm a white belt...

Working out with my dog...

This morning I did Butts & Guts Leg Blast Premix, so I had jello legs. During the stretch, I was doing down dog with one leg in the air, and my dog (a sweet black lab/border collie mix) comes up and licks my armpit! Needless to say, I lost my balance. Anyone else have pet stories?
