why are most olympic lifters so weak

Ive been reading a lot of olympic journals on this board and others and i find that most olympic weightlifters amature cant squat 405, cant row 200lbs... i find it funny how so many powerlifters who got strong on basic lifts can switch to olympic lifts and if they have decent form they can out...

not dropping fast enough for c&j

i filmed myself from side view a while ago and I realized why I am failing to rack the weight... I'm not dropping fast enough. I think I am "over-pulling" (is that the term?) Any remedies for this? Special exercises? Drills?

What has helped me

Im no expert but just gonna give advice to a person who recently started. wut has really helped me is straightening out ur back more then u feel u should and starting with ur hips lower then u think u should. also apply this to the jerk, straighten out ur arms further back then u think u need do....
