The reason they went after Trump is because he had documents relating to spygate. Remember, when he left office, he wrote a memo declassifying all documents relating to the case. But they were still tied up in the Durham investigation, so he couldn't release them without interfering in an ongoing investigation. He tried to bring a case in Florida against the people involved so that the documents could come out in discovery, but the judge tossed it. They dragged the Durham investigation on for years while he did nothing. They then raid his home, take the documents, and the next week, Durham ends his investigation. And while trump probably has other copies, he can't release them now as it would be a sign that he did not fully hand over these documents to investigators and there is an ongoing trial.

The entire thing is an ongoing effort to hide their corruption in the 2016 election and the mueller investigation.


Meanwhile, biden didn't have legal authority to declassify anything, he got caught red handed with classified docs, and nothing.

Nara gets into squabbles about documents with most presidents, and it’s handled in the courts. Bill Clinton went to court with Nara and the judge sided with Clinton. The judge set precedent that Nara has no authority to retrieve says documents.
