Spiderman is a great polished game but it is generic. You know what to expect when you have played the other Spidey games + it doesn't require skill to pass it.

It is basically a come and go game that is created to appeal to the normal consumers as well.

To be fair, nothing is good for u unless it's a zoomer twitch shooter game. Spiderman 2 is single handedly pushing out more console sales than anything else this year, with a 9.1 critic and fan rating so calling it a generic mid tier forgotten game might be slightly underselling it.

honestly i didnt think any of the games nominated were anything special.havent played Baulders Gate so i cant really comment on that.Alan Wake 2 looked the best graphix wise and is a good game and RE4 is well,RE4.RE4 was probably the best out of all of them.coarse thats a remake.everyone says this was a banger year but not for me i guess.Sea of Stars was probably my number 1 game and i already knew it was gonna get indie of the year so i guess i dont have much to say

Spiderman wasnt for me but i can understand why many people like it.id say most of them are spiderman fans for a long time.regardless i dont think your point is valid.its not like games have advanced besides graphics in the past 10 years.not counting PC games.i wont even get into all the crazy goofy chit thats on PC

Yea it's a fuking great game and what games are supposed to be IMO. It's just fun. It's not my GOTY, but it makes my top 3 and it IS the game I'd be most excited to replay as soon as they add the NG+.

Yep haven't started SM2 yet but I'll get to it early next year when they add NG+. I only ever played a Spiderman game this year for the first time, beating 2018 and Miles. I had a fuking blast. The games are just exciting and fun to play. No big decision making, no huge sense of exploring, no crazy detailed combat mechanics, but when you're swinging around or going from one major story beat to the next it's just nonstop fun and action with impressive set pieces and visuals.

Not every game needs to be a sweat fest, sometimes it's cool to just relax on your couch and be constantly entertained.

Much respect. I can appreciate this attitude and approach towards video games, something I can totally relate to. It's how I typically approach them as well. I am not looking for a 2deep4u experience or something demanding to sweat/skillmax over. Give me something fun and approachable and I'm happy.
