A lot of people are just born and raised in the city too, it's their home and natural habitat, and a lot of them are getting priced out by transplants/gentrification.

City living had its ups and downs but it's not for me. I am a simple man who prefers a slower pace of life. The constant mad rush for money/power was not my thing.

Meanwhile in smaller town can do sports, hunt, kayak, farmers market, bon fire, cycling, ski, build furniture, etc.

-jury duty
-getting drunk

I doubt I have been there more than 10 times total, DFS. I spend a lot more time in the ass end of the desert than I do downtown.

I will say, the one upside that cities do offer is access to sloots. It's tough to meet them in the suburbs, and in rural areas they either get married or leave.

The biggest advantage of living in a city is that I can literally walk to do pretty much anything I’d ever want to do, including work, doctor’s appointments, etc within 20 minutes — and me and my wife (who is pregnant, definitely not on that secular childless lifestyle) collectively gross around ~400k so we’ll be able to afford around a townhouse with a small backyard within the next 6-12 months. I don’t need that much space and everything is so convenient, why would I want to be out in the boonies srs?
