Controlled Labs PROnom vanilla cupcake batter review w/pics

Mixability and texture:
Mixes perfect, nothing to complain about here. Mixes fine with water or milk in a shaker cup (with 10 ounces of fluid), and mixes fine in a blender obviously. Even when I toss in a couple ice cubes it blends fine with no residual clumps to be found.

The texture is about medium, I would say. It's not thick like Myofusion, and it's not thin like Dymatize (just to name a few common products Im sure people are familiar with). You can taper down your fluid for a more thicker shake, but I like quantity. The more fluid, the more I get to drink.

Cost per serving:
4 pounds for $47.93 breaks down to 55 servings.
Or, .87 cents per scoop.
Using a 10% off code, the price drops to $43.14 or .78 cents per scoop.

Very economical, if you ask me. It's not the cheapest vanilla on the market, but it's also not the priciest.

Profile:

An ordinary proprietary blend of all the major players in the protein blend market. Nothing unusual here. Low calorie, low fat, and low carbs makes it really friendly for anyone's macros.

Taste:

BigBoLuke made the following quote in another vanilla protein thread that I think needs mentioning:

"I've tried a good number of Vanilla flavored proteins by now, and what I have found is they typically have one of three 'types' of Vanilla flavoring: Vanilla Bean, Butterscotch tones, or Cake Batter."

Just as the PROnom name indicates, this tastes like vanilla cupcake batter. It doesn't taste like vanilla bean, and it doesn't taste like butterscotch. The flavor is spot on, and just what you would expect given the name. Light & fluffy tasting, sweet & creamy. Of the 3 suggested vanilla flavors, the cake batter is my favorite so this was a pleasure to review. It's very good, easy to drink, and sure to please the snobbiest of vanilla aficionados.

No clumping, fully dissolved.

Conclusion:
There's nothing to dislike about the vanilla PROnom. Nothing. It tastes good, it's priced right, and it's from a reputable company like Controlled Labs. We've all been waiting for the day when CL would come out with a whey powder and I feel the wait was worth it. Excellent flavoring for such an affordable product.

I still think the BB.com vanilla casein is one of (if not THE) best vanilla tasting protein I've ever had. It's awesome, the cake batter flavoring is very strong and apparent.

The PROnom is really, really good but slightly different. I dont know how to compare them adequately.... maybe the BB.com tastes like vanilla frosting and the PROnom tastes like an actual cake? Either way.... they are both winners.

"Malty" is a very good word for that chocolate, it sure does mix up nice and frothy.

If you decide to go that route, I would STRONGLY suggest the lemon cream pie for proats. It doesnt sound as good as Cinn Roll, but trust me, it is.

Lcp to me tastes and smell like confectionery biscuits with sugared lemon paste.
