All you guys out there who are 5ft 10, approximately what height were you at 17? I'm 17 now (turned in October) & I'm approximately 5ft 8. Based on all your experience, what do you think my chances of hitting '10 actually are.
Thanks

I was about 5'10 before 15 but I hit puberty really early. I know my friend was about my height at 16 maybe but he caried on growing up to about 6 foot 1.
Its really hard to say. Chances are that you might grow another inch maybe but it could range from anywhere between no more growth and a lot more growth. I know there was a famous basketball player that was about 5'11 when he was about 18 and ended up a lot taller than 6 foot. Cant remember who it was but that is rare.

Graduated H.S. at 17 and was 5'10 at 168 lbs. Basically the same today, now that my fat-boy days are a thing of the past. Kept my favorite pair of 501's which I can still wear today except that they're really tight in the thighs.

Wouldn't that make you a worse fighter by reducing your reach?
But seriously ... you guys are shrinking? I thought that only happened once you got to be around 70 or 80. Doctor measured me the other day, and I am the same height I was in my 20's ... no "shrinkage" here
But to answer the OP's question, I grew maybe another half-inch to an inch after 17.It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

I'm fairly certain I was 5'8" when I was 17.
My height really bothered me when I was 17. Once I started experiencing more of life and realizing what you do (and don't have) it became insignificant to me.There will come a day when I tire of listening to 80's music. That day is not today.

Looking at a height vs age graph such as this one
http://www.chartsgraphsdiagrams.com/...2-20-boys.html
it would appear that your average male grows 2 more cm (0.8inches) after hitting age 17.
So while its unlikely (but not totally impossible) you'll get to 5 ft 10 you've got a reasonable chance of getting to 5 ft 9.

I believe I was 5' 10.5" at 17. I was hoping for 6'1" like my dad, but it wasn't to be. My brother is an inch or two shorter than me (but makes up for it by being wider ).
Two months ago I asked the nurse to measure me at my[physical, hoping I was 5'11", but alas, I had shrunk to 5' 9.5" Must be those compressing disks.Peace: Lift Long and Prosper!
