So currently i'm on a SS kind of routine since I am a beginner. I was wondering if it is okay to do bench press and shoulder press one the same day 3x a week. Everyone really alternate between those two.

As a beginner your muscles won't be strong enough to put too much strain on your tendons and ligaments, so I don't think it should be that much of a problem. Doing both 3x a week still seems like a lot, though. I'm assuming you have heavy and light days, maybe alternate which exercise you do heavy and which you do light, like maybe Monday is heavy bench with light shoulder press, Wednesday is light bench with heavy shoulder press, and Friday is medium weight both or something. What program are you doing?
