Pat sent me a text this morning that had a picture of him in it. He only got 3 hours of sleep, and is STILL crushing it. His progres has been amazing, and it's extremely motivating.
Sometimes we compare ourselves to others, and while it's good to look at other athletes and become inspired to improve and work harder, it is just as easy to get discouraged. When I look at Brian Whitacre, Layne Norton, Tommy Jeffers, Alberto Nunez, Jim Cordova, Doug Miller, etc, it is easy to compare yourself and say, "Wow... I don't think I'll ever get there." We need to compete less with others and more with ourselves. As long as I beat this guy, I'm satisfied:

thanks for the shout out dude, I make sure to look in the mirror every morning and tell myself that I HAVE to improve in something each and every day, both in the gym and out of it. You've been doing just that, and that improvement will show soon enough!

Dude, that is too FUNNY!
Just came across your log. Subbed!
It is, other than the grammatical errors I found. That's got to be the teacher in me .
Thanks for the support, man!

Yessir! See below. I felt like a truck ran over me yesterday.
I'm going to start calling you "Doc" .
On the up side, I feel a bit better today! It's funny, because I felt great on Friday. I hit my DL/Squat session and even hit a couple PR's! Then woke up yesterday feeling a little worse, and thought it was simply the virus peaking. Took the intensity down a notch on my arms workout and as the day progressed, it got WORSE and WORSE. I decided against a cheat (since i couldn't taste anything anyway) and hit my refeed numbers no problem. Appetite is still there, I just couldn't taste anything. Woke up weighing EXACTLY the same lol. Fun times!
Call you around 5, Bob-o!
Thanks, Pat! John Hansen (who was running the show, and one of the head judges) scored me 7th. He's old school and prefers the more muscular, softer look. The lady who was doing call outs scored me 2nd. I got two 2nds, one third, a fourth, and a 7th. That last one screwed me, but I ain't even mad .
Glutes ftw!
Thanks, homey.
We already know I can get peeled, so we're not too worried about getting up a little higher in weight this offseason. We're going to have plenty of time to dial it in. I just need more size!*Professional comic book geek* *semi-pro cartoon collector* *full time nerd*

So this is the day I was feeling a lot better and thought I was over the worst part of my cold. I have a feeling the intensity of this workout may have hindered my recovery and is the cause of my cold coming back in full force on Saturday. Who cares, I hit some PR's . It was a really good workout, and I think I was pumped about graduating so I had extra fuel for this workout.
As far as being sick goes, I am feeling a lot better than yesterday. Still going to take today off completely and see what Bob thinks as far as whether I should push my squat session to Tuesday instead of tomorrow. I typically train Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat, but since my schedule is a lot less packed, I can hit the workout Tuesday if need be.
I'm also quite behind on food porn, so here ya'll go!

Putting all that food to good use .
Thanks, Mike.
I think I'm on the upside of things now, so pepper for some more PR's!
I can pull more from a conventional stance, which is odd lol.
I've been so under the weather I haven't done s****. I got something up my sleeve tomorrow night .
I have not, but I tried to smell some yesterday, and it smelled good from the little scent that my nostrils allowed in lol. I'm going to munch that shiz on the way to my brother's on turkey day .
Get in on that!
I'm trying. Got to improve a little bit EVERY DAY.*Professional comic book geek* *semi-pro cartoon collector* *full time nerd*

So nothing ground breaking today. I'm still recovering from my cold, but felt pretty good! That first set of 255 felt easy, but the 2nd one felt MUCH heavier lol. I decided to lower the weight and really focus on technique, which I think worked out in my favor because my glutes and hip flexors were toast after those sets. All in all I was pleased with how the workout went.
I also sent Bob a posing update video today to see where we're at conditioning wise. He's happy with how things are looking and it looks like I've added some width and thickness to my back. Lots of work to do, but we're on the right track!
