I am so proud, that I had to share! Last time I tried, I only made it through one bite. Today I read about putting hot sauce on it-- much better. I was able to eat 1/2 a pack. Going to try and eat some every day to see if I can learn to like it.
Now, I will get all lean, hot and sexy! Right? lol

I'm glad the hot sauce worked better for you, but if you don't like tuna, you don't have to eat it. There are plenty of other lean protein sources out there

exactly, food should be yummy, imo, and there are other lean protein sources, so don't eat one that you can merely tolerate. if you don't like it, try something else. that said, there are so many things you can do to make things taste better or different. i love tuna, and usually mix it w/ 1/2 c dark red kidney beans, 1/2 c white beans, 1/2 c mushrooms, 1/2 c tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, asian chili sauce, some spices (like rosemary). yum. some common and low cal additions are celery and relish. oh it's really good w/ part of a granny smith apple cut up in it too.

Yum! Tuna+Miracle whip, olive bits, pickle, celery, mustard.....Perfection!
Congrats on finding a way to enjoy it! I hope you find some other tasty methods you like as well
That's how I learned to like cottage cheese and greek yogurt. I added something yummy to them, then slowly took it away. Now I love them plain!~Impatience never demanded success~

I agree that if you don't like it, don't eat it. Personally, tuna is the only fish that I can eat. Other than that, I absolutely can't stand seafood, so I just don't eat it.
I will say that adding a tablespoon of olive oil to tuna completely cuts the fishy taste and turns it into (for me) a really yummy protein source.I hate qualifiers.

I don't mind tuna but it's not my first choice if I have other options lol.. I DO like it made as a patty with some egg white to bind it and flatten and fried on a NON STICK pan, top with some fat free or regular cheese melted and a little mayo and SOO YUM. Can put that in a bun too or eat it in lettuce or whatever.

Thanks for the replies and recipes! I will try some of them soon--patties w/ cheese sound good.
I know that I don't HAVE to eat tuna, just looking for some new easy protein sources.
Had the left over "hot sauce" tuna tonight on toast with lettuce. It was not bad at all, so maybe I just need my tuna with a little flare!

Personally, I'm all tuna'ed out--any canned fish for that matter--my kids love canned salmon though and so i'm trying really hard to begin to love it--smells like cat food.
Anyways, I used to mix my tuna with cottage cheese or fat-free ranch dressing--the creaminess seemed to cut the fish flavour a bit

It's funny because last week i was practically telling everyone how proud i was of myself for doing the same thing! not sure if you've tried it this was before, but I made an Italian version that was great: low fat italian dressing, balsamic vinegar, diced tomatoe, diced black olives, finely chopped parsely, salt, and pepper. you can alos add any other diced veggies like celery or cucumber or pepperocini peppers.
