because the Ten Commandments said there is only God and no others, and that worshipping jesus is idolatry - the very first commandment God gave us.
Plus, believing that jesus is the only way to God implies that God ****ed up the Old Testament. And since I believe that God is infallible, I have to assume that Jesus did his stuff for the lulz.
It's always interesting coming down to this level and arguing it out on your terms...still awaring you that your beliefs are contradictory.

Do you even know what idolatry is? I presume you have no idea what you are talking about.
Not if Jesus=God. Problem solved.

Like Paul said, the Mosaic Law was a simple precursor. It did not save, and messing up once meant you were a sinner. Then you had to make an animal sacrifice, but good luck atoning when Yahweh decided that the sacrifices the Israelites made were not worthy. Not to mention that there's no Temple, either. So how would people get their sins forgiven? God always demanded blood, Jesus gave it, problem solved again.

Idolatry is worshiping an idol that isn't God.
So you're saying god ****ed up. Problem not solved by adding details not originally explicated in the Old Testament. You take this on a matter of faith that jesus is god, so I cannot reason with you. That said, you reject God and the Ten Commandments by worshiping a human that was not God. Simple, really.
How so?

Nah, you're just a newb who got a bit of info off of some anti-Christian website and now thinks that he's Bart Ehrman.
So your God, in all his majesty, needed a beta version of salvation. Brilliant. What else couldn't your God do?
I don't know who Bart ehrman is, so for what it's worth your supposed insult means nothing. And i've been an atheist for many, many years now. I'm not run-of-the-mill fly-by-night noob athiests like LordDarwin who only discovered Dawkins last years.

I believe in His Holiness Jesus; I also believe that, after the Christian Dispensation, in the Muhammadan Dispensation God sent Muhammad as His Prophet for that age; and today, I believe God has sent Baha'u'llah. Baha'is believe in Jesus, and believe that the Bible was the Word of God; but as a Baha'i, I believe that Baha'u'llah is the Manifestation of God for today, so I turn to Him to know about and follow God's laws and teachings for this age.
"O MAN OF TWO VISIONS! Close one eye and open the other. Close one to the world and all that is therein, and open the other to the hallowed beauty of the Beloved."

Like many others said, he's not real ... also I don't want to go through life thinking of myself as someone who needs saving/forgiveness, just because god allegedly placed a curse on humanity, or because adam and eve f*cked up.
