Just sharing with you guys the compound movements that I thought I would never be able to do again. Tonight I got 275lbs for 5..
Once again my pelvis is really holding up and I am feeling really good about my lifts.
My squat was my worst fear but I got 135lbs without any pain so that fear is sort of..well put in the back of my mind for now...

Thanks guys I haven't received the results from the MRI as yet I should know tomorrow, but I am starting to think maybe I DON'T want to know, I am feeling really good lately and if I hear some bad news, that might do something psychological to me, what do you think?

I am doing everything I can while I can, the doc told me that one day it might just all collapse, so I take everything one day at a time....I just pray everyday to God and thank him.....
LOL I never pay attention to anyone in the gym, but I did notice the guy to my left was doing power cleans..On the list for Bannukah

Thanks D
I was just writing explaining to another member that I have to warm up with the pole before I do any compound movement. Warming up wit the bar seems to loosen up the area. Like I told him I don't speak much about it but I still walk with a limp and I am always tight/stiff until I start training. I don't know how long I am going to be like this but I have to start loosening up more than anything else before I can start any compound exercise that requires lower body movement .
Not sure if you remember but shrugs were a real bitch because of the steady weight that was placed on my torso, I still feel that discomfort, but not to the point where I can't continue. My biggest fears is, when will the discomfort not not be a discomfort any more but a problem and collapse since the doc told me it is possible that my pelvis could give in.On the list for Bannukah

I was never one to warm up, ever......until about 2yrs ago. I think it's just smart any any age, but maybe more so when we're...um...not kids anymore . About 6yrs ago, I constantly experienced extreme stiffness when even getting up off a sofa after sitting for as little as 15-20mins. I was like the Tin Man...and it took about 5-10 steps before I was oiled up and was fine. But for some reason I can't pinpoint, it just stopped. Water, better diet? I don't know, just glad it went away. Just do whatever it takes to feel comfortable and fluid before lifting.
As far as the pelvis....not sure what to tell you. But I am a firm believer that high rep/low weight helps connective tissue to strengthen during rehab, and I'm convinced it's what helped me get back quickly after 2 shoulder surgeries. But...lol...when we're rehabbing...we don't have much damn choice, eh?
Off to the dreadmill......."If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."

Way to go John!
Yorkshireman I: Right! I had to get up in the morning, at ten o'clock at night, half an hour before I went to bed, eat a lump of cold poison, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill and pay mill-owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our dad would kill us and dance about on our graves, singing Hallelujah!

I hear ya man glad you are over that I hate this feeling and I am hoping it is not indefinitely.
Have fun on the dreadmill
Yeah man I hope it stays like that for a while maybe confuse my body into thinking it is still a nubbee even when I am back to where I was
Thanks Nam!
He actually asked for the pic when we had our last conversation, I can't see myself sending him another pic just to brag to him, would love to though as he has no idea (or maybe he does) on the emotional stress he put me through when he told me I would never be able to walk againwithout some kind of assistance.....On the list for Bannukah

bh, i gotta say this is inspiring to me. we are about the same size and age, and i just feel like such a weanie. i think i've convinced myself that i have to go slower with advancing age....so much so that perhaps i don't push myself hard enough. i am one to congratulate myself for simply doing a few light sets to get the blood going.
i know that might be good enough for many...but knowing your story, and seeing this video, i am thinking that it is no longer good enough for me.
thanks for the lesson.

Boathead, do not let age be a factor, give it your all, no reason to believe because you are aging to slow down. I believe the human body will sustained more than a lot of people give it credit.
Don't tip toe around your workouts, if you learn to "listen" to your body, (yes your body speaks to you) it will tell you when you are going at it too hard, but do not dictate your workouts based on your age.

OK... I sat here and stared at the screen for 5 minutes trying to come up with an appropriate "congrats", and everything is still falling short.
So I guess I'll just join in with boat and say, "thanks for makin' me feel like such a weenie, bro"...Chris
