how important is flossing?
is the expensive rechargeable toothbrush that much better than a regular one? Since it has a timer I brush each of the four sections of my mouth 30 secs each which is a lot more than i used to. is this really beneficial or not really?
what are the chances I won't have my wisdom teeth taken out? so far so good..

not every night but still occasionally. i got my braces off like 7 years ago and if i go a strech of like 2 weeks or more without wearing it when i put it on it hurts which means the teeth have shifted some. ideally, every night would be great but if you did like once at night every other day or once a week you'd probably be good. but if it starts to hurt when you put it on thats the sign that you arent wearing it enough

my dentist told me i have calcifying pulp cavities, what does this mean? And i have no pain in my wisdom teeth don't bother me or anything, and my dentist told me to remove them, is he just tryna make money off me? ALSO, i had severe tooth pain when i was on a plane once, when the plane was descending it was excruciating, apparently this was due to pressure changes and air expanding. What are the chances of this happening agian?

Scenario: Drink lots of booze, pass out, didnt brush teeth before passing out.
What are negative effects? Can they be diminished by brushing in morning?Mod neg count: II

oh shiz one more. for the past few months it's been difficult to completely open my jaw/mouth on the left side. if i try to open and close fully 5 times, maybe only 2/5 will allow me to open fully. the majority of the time, the jaw gets stuck and doesn't open more than a few inches. if i try to force my mouth open it feels like im breaking my jaw. whats wrong with me?
oh and for flossing, is it okay to use those little things and just push them through my teeth after brushing?

I got my wisdom teeth out two weeks ago. the swelling was almost completely gone after a week. a few days ago the swelling has slightly returned on my left cheek. what do?
Edit: Also my canine teeth are still baby teeth and haven't fallen out. Dentist did an x-ray and said there are no adult teeth behind them, and that i would need fake teeth inserted there. how bad does it hurt to get them inserted in.Last edited by raven1222; 04-12-2012 at 08:29 PM.

I went to the dentist because of an increasing tooth sensitivity in my front teeth, and he told me that because of some tooth trauma (got my teeth broken with a beer bottle when I was 16), my front teeth are dying. That was 16 years ago, is it possible that trauma from 16 years could cause my teeth to die now?

this is about wisdom tooth removal op...
I am now 19, for about 4 years I have been told that I needed to remove my wisdom teeth or else I would have big problems. From the first time they told me I would need to get them removed( I was 15 ), I did regular check ups and xrays and the first time they told me of this, they said within a year I would need to remove them or else I would have problems. I am now 19 and they keep telling me the same b.s. that within a year I need to get them removed!
My parents never had any wisdom tooth problems, they didnt get them removed, their teeth are set perfectly and neither of them had braces or any type of tooth alignment things put on them. I have never had any pain in that area, my only concern is that when I look in the mirror it does kind of look like the rear teeth are getting misaligned but theyve looked like this for a year or two without any major change.
I am worried that in time my front teeth will get misaligned and that I will develop problems and pains. Could it be that these dentists were just trying to get money out of me? I rather leave my teeth in I do not want to get them removed, and not for money issues, just that I dont believe in those types of things(wisdom tooth removal)
What do you say op? also sorry for this long post, I pour all my thoughts out into the page, Im not too good at writing lol, thanks op appreciate it!

what school, what were your dat scores and how much are you expecting to be in debt when you get out. or if you've had help what is your total learning experience cost. I'm a dental tech and had hopes of going to dental school but the more I talk to some of our clients it doesn't seem worth the money anymore. brb 300k in school loans, then buying a practice. So cal is saturated with dentists and most aren't even covering their own bills. well our clients at least.
