Are these a good exercise for the long head of the triceps? I am talking about the version where the bar is low, and you are facing the ground with your arms up kind of over your head. You hold the bar and extend your elbows. That's basically like an overhead triceps extension? Correct? With a weighted vest, these would probably be great for bench-press assistance and triceps mass.

This but but also be open-minded about doing them weighted.
I do 10 reps 3-5 sets, if I can do 10 reps. I increase the load. They translate so well to straight arm strength even, and as a bonus can help teach hip extension. IMO a very very under-valued but extremely important component. Hip extension while walking even can greatly reduce low back gain and strengthen your posture.FS/ S/ OHP/ B/ DL

I don't go to the gym anymore so above stats are useless.
Only do weighted calastentics in the comfort of my own home!

Yes a good movement.
Try stretching by letting the bar come behind your head.
I like using TRX type straps for these also.
The more you stand away the more leverage you are applying which can easily be adjusted stepping more forward.
As far as a tricep assistance for bench probably not as good but any tricep work may help some.
Usually triceps for BP are for the lockout half way up to lockout.
The best would be doing board presses with two or three boards with regular or close grip.
Close grip pushups may help some.
