13-year-old boy from Staten Island, New York, took his own life on Thursday after being bullied by classmates at school.
"I gave up," Daniel, who was scheduled to start at Brooklyn's Xaverian High School in the fall, wrote on lined paper.
"The teachers either they didn't do ANYTHING!" he scrawled in the note.

Makes me ill. I will be teaching my kid to defend himself and immediately resort to physical violence anytime he is legitimately being harassed. People at the school will never and really can't do anything about bullying like this. Wonder how aware the parents were of this whole thing. Teenagers and school is just a ****ed up environment.

Bullying is a natural process of life. It weeds out the weak and inferior. Happens in nature. The human species is no different. Nature only cares about the strongest passing on their genetics.
Kids are a bunch of pussies these days. Oh Timmy is calling me names at school... let me go hang myself. This kid would never have survived the real world anyway.
I'd have more respect fi he started spraying the school up

Being a kid that may appear different, or behave in different ways etc can be very hard with coping at school. School as we all know is a highly clique-y environment, and life for the "odds ones out" can get miserable fast. The kid in OPs post though seems like a normal regular kid??
Glad I'm out of high school.
Lol @ equating nature with the realities of ostracism, bullying etc. Bullying someone doesn't make you strong - it makes you an a$$hole. I guess you must believe that violent criminals are natures best bet at survival, as opposed to more intelligent humans who have empathy?
"Kids are a bunch of pussies these days"... yes, because no kids in the past ever commit suicide, or suffered due to bullying.

When he had the thought of people sympathizing for him after. Thats why he played the victim card in his notes. Saying the teachers didnt do anything in his note is pathetic. Now all these people feel like it was their fault. Teachers? really?
If your family loves you, you shouldnt have the thought of killing yourself

Always tragic when this happens. From my experience schools rarely do what is required to stamp out bullying and if they do it's only after months of harassment. It's clear the school was doing little if they were pulling to kid from the school and planning to send him somewhere else.
From what I have experienced when bullying is reported for some reason it's the victim that is usually forced to compromise, switch classes, told to avoid the bullies, even switch schools it's almost never the bullies behaviour that needs to be changed but the victims.Bench -216lbs

strong first post is strong.
I got bullied in elementary and middle school because I was always the shortest kid and moved around every year or two. My mom just told me to crack the kid in the jaw, it was super effective tbh. Suicide never even crossed my mind, its really sad a kid at only 13 already felt that was his only option, he never even really got to experience life.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Bullying stops as soon as you fight back.... When I was in 8'th grade one of my friends was getting kind of teased and picked on by this one kid.. Then one morning my friend said watch this... The other kid started teasing him again and my friend jabbed him in the nose.. the other kid did absolutely nothing and never bothered him again

its weird because there are friends who do friendly ragging which i think can be ok but there are some people who are just around because its a small town or school or whatever so in most cases u associate with them and even consider them "friends" when the truth is they are not and u try to like them but u butt heads. i think the people who can't help but fuk with other people have issues. and its infuriating to see them successful and running anything with what they could have done to people by their actions in the past

this is what happens when you dont teach your kids about the real world. Not everyones nice and going to treat you with respect like your family does. Its all about survival. I was in the same shoes... really quiet pale kid who had no friends.. easy target. my parents didnt teach me sht on how to deal with it so i just took it. lucky all i cared about was world of warcraft so real life didnt bother me that much.. thats what i used to survive

not every kid has the requisite courage/mindset for that. It's not their fault. Some are encouraged/bullied into assuming a pussy role in the house by a parent early on (unknowingly) and then it just snowballs in life from there and they're picked on everywhere until they make a huge change.
