    cutting weight for competitions

    i am curious on if you guys cut weight like wrestlers? like do you try to make your size as small as you can so you look bigger in your weight classes for show?

    if you do cut weight i would also like to know of any weight cutting tricks or how do you properly cut weight? do you guys just dehydrate then replenish with electrolytes? if so what kind of time frame and how much weight is cut?

    i ask because i compete in mma at 170 lbs. i usually weigh around 175 before i lose the 5 pounds to make weight. but im looking to get more serious with being bigger and cutting more weight the day before weighins. im thinking of bulking to like 185 then cut to 170. any tips on this? i no this might not be what you guys do but any info might help me out. im self trained and if i ever make it to the big show i will have the announcer announce me as fighting out of my mothers basement.

    We lose fat but at the same time trying to lose the LEAST possible amount of muscle mass.

    So that's why we aim to only lose 1-2lbs a week.
