Heh. I don't see the appeal to Bruce's physique. Maybe more appealing than Markus Ruhl, but still nothing I would want to look like. And 95% of us are trying to add muscle, not strip it down, which is what most would need to do to reach his physique.

i think his lifts reflect his career. he needed to deliver fast and powerful blows, so he did explosive lifts for speed and used heavy weight to give power to his punches and kicks. obviously he didnt wanna have a bb'ers physique bc he was known for his lightning fast speed and strength. extra muscle would slow him down. still, he was awesome, and truly dedicated to his little niche of the fitness world, just as many of us are dedicated to our bodybuilding niche. props to him for sticking with what he wanted to do and being healthy and strong. i still watch enter the dragon sometimes...rip old bruce

But the bat like lats + skinny body and arms look weird to me lol.

that work out has to be wrong. Or maybe not wrong, but he did alot more than just that.
Tons of forearm exercises for one, and weighted chin ups behind the neck. Grabbing his forearm is like holding a baseball bat apparently, they were that developed.
Bruce lee was not a bodybuilder either people, he was more of a powerlifted if anythying. And there is something appealing about his body, mostly cause he was just so dense and strong. Size isnt everything.
He could hold a 70 pound dumbell straight out parallel to the floor in front of him and hold it for a good ammount of time. I can't do that **** with a fricken 35 pound one and i bench 245. Seriously, try it, i think that will give you some respect for how strong the man really was.

Keep in mind, like some have pointed out already, Bruce did only things that made him a better fighter with some weight training of his own.
What he looks like is only a side affect of his body type. He didn't give a crap what he looked like."I'm worried about deadlifts too. I mean the word "dead" has got to be in there for a reason. Are you sure they won't kill me?" - olympic

nope the workout isnt wrong, infact it's in 'the art of expressing the human body'. This isnt the only workout he done lol, probably for a short time infact then changed it again completely. He tried everything, he was ahead of his time. I'm not a bruce lee ass kisser who believes he can destroy everyone etc, but I do respect him, and to say he has a ****ty physiue?! come on guys, if you read the book it qoutes schwarzenegger saying he had a very good physique, very inspirational. It even goes on to say how it helped inspire people like flex wheeler.

I'd like to see the video of him holding up a 70lb dumbell with one hand in front of him. Until then, I won't believe it. Front DB Raises are one of my very strongest lifts and weighing 230 I can't rep 50lbs correctly, let alone hold it in front of me. Not to mention he would fall over if he held that much weight in front of him, half his body weight.

A few yrs. back I saw this piece of paper that he wrote this all on. It was in a book by John Little. Cool stuff no doubt!
Also about the car. He didn't get to enjoy for long for he passed away a few months later. His wife still had the car in the late 90's! Still driving it around.Last edited by WAYSOUTH; 09-15-2006 at 05:17 AM.
