People say to gain more mass, we need to intake more calories..."bulk." Do calories turn into fat or just clean mass? Because I have also noticed nonfat foods have less calories. Any explanations?

gah
the above post is mostly incorrect. Yes... people with higher bf percentages may gain bf a little easier than those with low bf.... but there is little correlation there.
The deciding factors between extra calories being converted to fat tissue or lean mass are as followed:
DO you train? If you do, do you train hard enough? Training is what triggers your body to grow muscle.
Is your diet in check? If you arn't eating high quality frequent meals, you will likely be gaining more fat tissue that if you were.
Sleep? at least 8 hours with good REM cycles
Genetics... yeh. as I explained in the beginning... some people (mesomorphs) gain muscle easier than others (endos and ectos)
There are just a few... but the biggest ones off the top of my head.
