Who do you think is? i think Tom Platz. Yeah he had great thighs but they overpowered his calves and his upper body was average at best.

This forum is pitiful. Takes forever to get a response, yet theres always dozens of views. I hardly come here anymore because no one says anything. Bro, I recommend the flexonline.com forum. Lots of responses and topics.
BTW, I always thought Samir Bannout was extremely overrated. His lats were great, but the rest of his body sucked! I also thought Franco Columbo was overrated. Also had a great back, but no other standout bodyparts. I think a good bodybuilder should have several standout bodyparts. For instance, Ronnie Coleman is known for his bicep peaks, but he also has the thickest back in bodybuilding. And Lee Haney had a great deltoid seperation and huge traps, but he also had great inner chest seperation and awesome spinal erectors.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to add Dorian Yates to the list. I respect him, and I think he is a hard-working bodybuilder, but he is way too blocky, unaesthatic and his mid section is way too wide.▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

Dorian is one of my all time favorites but I prefer Levrone and Flex's physique. He deserved the 92 and 93 Olympias but that is it in my opinion.▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

imo frank zane and big lou are very overrated.
Also, I'd like to add Arnold. He had a great physique for his time (though arguably not the best, but still great), but it seems to me that most of the time when people try to judge his physique nostalgia gets the better of them. He was great for his time, but let's face it people, he had neither the size nor the aesthetic look of today's pro's.
Again, not saying he had a crappy physique. It's just that consider him to have been a bodybuilding god, when compared to the top physiques today he wasn't anything special.
And I don't know how people are considering Kamali to be overrated, most don't seem to rate him very highly at all. Sure, he, like Titus, relies on his big mouth to bring him up a few placings, but it's not like he consistently gets placed far ahead of much better pro's.Last edited by EAE; 11-25-2003 at 03:30 AM.

Actually Frank is great
He was a bodybuilder that was amazing to look at but bodybuilding was once about muscle control which is different than just flexing and holding your stomach in just long enough to hit a three second pose.
One time bodybuilding was a healthy life style where things like stomach vac was a big pose. Now that poses are just flex and try to smile. If anything he held his own and showed the peak of his type of bodybuilding before the beginning of mass took over and now seems to have ruined so muchIf at first you don't succeed, do it right the second time and act like you did it right the first time.

imo symmetry and aesthitics (sp?) are an important area of bodybuilding but Zane was too much of an extreme imo. He didn't have enough size to compete with guys like Mentzer or Arnold.
As for lou, i never thought he was that great and for the 1975 olympia i would have placed him 5th overall. with the placings something like this...
1. arnold
2. franco
3. serge
4. ed corny
5. lou"Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac." -Henry Kissinger

arnold had a very good physique but in 1972 there is no way he deserved to beat oliva."Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac." -Henry Kissinger

i think Zane as a bodybuilder is overrated(i mean winning the olympia multiple times) but still admire his physique much more than the mass monsters

I think gunter is a great guy but def overrated. Actually i think Jay was overrated until he figured out his conditioning. Another great pro but i think is overrated is Milos Sarcev..a guy who championed the idea of a classical physique and the idea that massive drugs were not that we to go...and he injects synthol and winds up in the hospital ...plus his delts were flat as ****.
Kamali is good interms of being a show man but he needs work..his chest is some what un balanced when it comes to proportional thickness, his conditioning and fullness were way off at his last olympia, and his arms and calves need major work.
Paul dillet also got a lotta whooopla for nothing imo...but that is just my opinion.
