truth. it seems like these days all movies have stock soundtracks; everything sounds identical and a carbon copy of other scores. everything is so paint-by-numbers and it's uninspired and lame as ****.

back in the day, a movie with a great soundtrack got props. forrest gump, singles etc

buying cd's isn't a thing anymore, so this art is more or less lost

The entire soundtrack to Highlander was by Queen. There aren't many better soundtracks.

When Hans Zimmer dumbed down his scores it seemed like everyone followed suit. His old stuff was melodic and memorable. Once he started working with that bland hack Christopher Nolan, his soundtracks became just as bland as the sh!t-tier movies he was scoring.

It's a good point. I can't remember the last new movie I watched where I felt compelled to listen to any of the soundtrack afterwards. Used to be a common thing for me.

Only thing that comes to mind wasn't even a movie but Game of Thrones.
