brb 1. Tattoos used to be a right of passage. This was for tribes or accomplishments in other types of groups. Now they are peacock fashion statements.

brb 2. Many people exploit their dead relatives and children to make a fashion statement with tattoos. The thinking is like this. "Hmmmm... I want a tattoo to be cool...however to be really cool the tattoo has to 'mean something'. I know... I'll say it's for my dead relative or for my child. That will give me the excuse I need."

brb 3. People will think I'm bad ass or sexy or whatever... NO... it's so over done now it's a ridiculous cliche'. All the soy boy incels have full sleeves now. You look like your body is covered in garbage stains anyway.

brb 4. "I'm expressing myself. I'm unique." No......................... Tattoos are today's sheep brand.

At least in the 70's you could take off your bell bottoms and earth shoes when you were done.

At least in the 80's You could get rid of your vans, big hair and izods.

Again, this is just an excuse to get a tattoo because you want a fashion statement. If you have to walk around with a 24/7 billboard of your accomplishments then I feel sorry for you son.

I addressed this in my first post. Clothes and glasses CAN be a fashion statement, but they can be removed when they are no longer relevant. Tattoos are a fashion statement that can't be removed and will be there even when they are not relevant. They will become cringey, anacrosnistic and regrettable.

Clothes and sunglasses also serve a useful purpose. They protect us from certain factors in your environment.

Yes, it is black and white. It's no more a "culture" than eating at Apple-bees is a "culture". Unless you are part of a NZ tribe or another legitimate indigenous tribe or was given the right to wear the tattoo by service in the military or something it's nothing but low couture fashion.
