So in class we were discussing society and different views and problems we may encounter and somehow we got to talking about the difference in a male going to class and a female going to class.
He asks the guys how its like and do we check our surroundings and we all said no or just didnt answer. Then he asked the girls the same thing and they start listing chit like. Parking next to a light at night, checking their surroundings at all times, bring a buddy with u, keep headphones so no one talks to you, walk fast, etc. One girl even said as she walks she checks for escape routes in case something happens. I never thought about any of this as a male.

Is it really like this for females?

Yes, it is.
There are some sick people in the world.
My uni campus has had several incidents where girls were attacked while walking to parking.
If you are not aware of your surroundings, as a female, you're opening yourself up to a dangerous situation.Thus let me live, unseen, unknown;
Thus unlamented let me die;
Steal from the world, and not a stone
Tell where I lie.

I think it's generally good to be aware of your surroundings, but living in a constant state of fear of attack...not so much. Who i am and how i look physically might affect my outlook on this.

I recently went out on a date with a woman.
Her drinks apparently hit her harder than she expected.
So, she asked me if I had put something in her drink.
I was like wtf, no. Why is your first thought after having a stiff drink if I had spiked your drink?
she apologized, and said she didn't mean anything by it
Then I asked her what she would have expected me to respond if I had in fact put something in her drink, "yes, yes I did put something in your drink"

-checks surroundings and scans every 5 mins or so when at bars/crowds/public anything
-clears rooms in unfamiliar locations
-avoids common-sense no-go areas (dark alley/shady clubs/walk thru tunnels)
-plans exit strategies
-conceal carries everywhere
just habits I've developed from 8 years in the service, some one of seems over the top but can't help it. Would hope most people have common sense to avoid shady situations thoughUS Navy Corpsman '09-'19 "Motrin, water, take a knee"

Yeah check out a book on observing your surroundings. Even as a guy you wouldn't want to walk into a dark alley or be aware of 3-4 guys tailing or approaching you. Yes we are physically stronger but your not going to beat 3-4 dudes with knifes and bats if they decide to mug you. I have escape plans mapped out for work in case of a event as well. Both my Grandfather and Dad was in military and taught me to always be observant and prepared.
I just want to share the knowledge I have obtained throughout my life and hopefully change someone's life.

I normally walk around in condition yellow, which should be good for either sex. Especially when at gas pumps, standing in lines, or walking to and form my car in a parking lot.
Once I'm at work, home, or friends in a relaxed atmosphere (restaurants, etc), I'm in condition white.
Most people are in condition white, especially with their nose buried in phones and such.I'm not blessed with riches, but I am rich with blessings.
Thank you, LORD, my God.

The only time I ever felt like I should check my surroundings is when im at a crowded concert so I dont get pickpocketed or im at a party and idk the owner of the house. The last party I went to with friends and i didnt know the owner of the house ended in a shooting.( haha fun).
Besides that I felt somewhat fine walking in a parking lot at 2 am.B:300 S:405 D:485
