Can anyone recommend a good blender for making green smoothies.. or any smoothies for that matter. I currently have the nutribullet but i find that it always leaves chunks of the food at the bottom which grosses me out! It just doesn't blend things as good as I'd like.

Ninja makes great blenders... not too cheap but damned solid machines.

I own a Vitamix and a Ninja. For soups, food prep the Vitamix is superior to any machine I have ever owned. With the Ninja, it works very well for simple smoothies. Vitamix blends a little to smooth for me while the ninja leaves some texture.

I'd go with the Vitamix too. I have the Ninja for cost reasons. The Ninja will break down the greens, but it doesn't have the best flow, tends to make it watery.
Vitamix will give you more of the consistency of you're local smoothie shop.

Vitamix all the way! I burned up a KitchenAid blender always making smoothies for breakfast. I've had my Vitamix now for 2+ years and use it damn near every day no problems whatsoever. I've even used it to make/cook broccoli cheese soup and tomato basil bisque!

Vitamix is what most professional kitchens use. Great quality and warrantee, but they are very expensive.
Heard decent things about BlendTec, but I can guarantee it's no Vitamix.
Ninja is the poverty choice. Poor construction/design, blades dull fast.
If a Vitamix isn't in your budget for typical home use, then get a higher end Oster model. I've had this 600-watt blender for 10 years and it still looks/works good as new: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Oster-Fus...-NP0/204499335
You may also want to look into Juicers like this one if you're just blending fruit and veggies without wanting pulp -- http://www.amazon.com/Omega-VRT350-D.../dp/B00434JINO
The only difference is that smoothies have added ice, yogurt, ice cream, etc.

Plus one on the Magic Bullet. I've even made hummus in mine.

Been using a nutri-ninja daily for a year and half making green smoothies and it works great. I have the nutri-ninja IQ one that came with 3 cups. It was on sale for 119 but I've seen it lately for 99 at Walmart.
I'm sure a Blendtec or Vitamix works better, but this works good enough for me and doesn't use much counter space.

I use a Magic Bullet almost every day and haven't run into any issues. I don't have experience with other blenders and the Magic Bullet was a wedding present so something free that does well is good in my books lol
