hey, I'm looking for some general advice. I was inactive for a year and a half because of numerous life problems and now I'm starting college and will have access and time for body building. Since I stopped lifting I gained around 7 kgs and moved to skinny fat category. Currently 176 height and 72kgs. So my question is, which path to follow? Cut, bulk or calorie maintenance and get newb gains back for first 1-2 months? I definetly dont have muscle mass for getting ripped after a cut atm, yet I already have excess fat to bulk (around 18-20% fat I guess)

A year and a half break is pretty much starting over.
Its not hard bro, find out your maintenance calories, if you are fat, eat less, skinny, eat more. Eat less fat and more protein. Manage carbs based on fatness.
Get started on a basic routine like Stronglifts or Starting Strength, etc. Noob gains last longer than 2 months (still riding them). The rest comes with experience naturally.**Born on a Monday crew**
