Good luck OP, but **** off saying you failed because you had no support system, you failed because you're fat and you like food. Plenty of people on here have done incredible things on their own, and don't blame others for their past mistakes.

No one was shoving food down your throat.

Social support mechanisms are actually one of the most effective tools for weight loss in terms of what the research has found. It's definitely not required, but it is something that gives somebody more accountability and barriers to falling into old habits. Using the forums here in itself can be a form of support for people to stay on track

Despite a lot of the schit that gets posted here, whenever someone is legit trying to lose weight, the Misc is actually very motivational.
Granted, WettyB is a very extreme case, but even other cases have gotten a lot of feedback.
OP just has to make sure his thread gets updated frequently and bumped throughout the day

You're absolutely right...partially...I am fat, I did use to like food..A LOT...but to tell me to **** off because I said I had no support system seems a little extreme. I didn't blame anything on anybody...I take full responsibility for the way I am...I realize there are a lot of people that do this on their own and have no support but you can't tell me that when you DO have the support that it doesn't motivate you to push harder and harder until you get the job done...

Believe me I had the best of intentions for our new friend. I still recommend creating a separate thread in the other forum to help you keep track of your journey since it will be far less cluttered.

My weight loss spreadsheet has my weight and 8 different measurements from every week of my diet. The scale can betray you sometimes but measurements will always tell the tale.

I lost 70 pounds in exactly 5 months and every now and again I would not lose or gain a little but I always showed a loss over any two week period and measurements is what helped me stay motivated.

what kind of exercise are you planning? I did very little during my loss but at 430 you can burn some serious cals doing just about anything.

I do 30-60 minutes of cardio everyday that I am at the gym( and walk A LOT while I am at work)...sometimes regular cardio...sometimes HIIT...I'm lifting as well just to work everything and not just get on the treadmill and call it good

Just remember to focus mostly on your diet. All that cardio is meaningless if you are consuming excess calories.

Far from the truth...I've read his thread and not only is he inspiring but I hope and pray he does everything in his power to reach his full potential...I posted in the MISC section for the reasons I stated earlier...I've been coming to this forum for a long time without an account and I enjoy reading posts and I like the people in this section. You, my friend, are the type of person that makes me push harder and harder just to prove you wrong. There has been nothing but positivity in this thread so far but I guess there's always that "One Guy"...you have proved it to me today kind sir
