As a kid, Mad magazine was a big part of my life. I especially liked the "fold here" back cover pictures! And who could forget "Spy vs. Spy?" Anybody else enjoy the twisted parodies?

One of my best memories of childhood was running out to the mailbox, whenever MAD was due to show up. For some reason, my relatively straight laced dad had a subscription. As a kid I probably didn't understand half the stuff I was reading, but I memorized all of it

My Dad would get it. When he was done reading it, I got the copy. When my brother was old enough, he would see it after me. I loved the tri-fold back cover. I was the only one in the family that enjoyed it, but everyone wanted to see what it was after I did it. I would always study the picture for a while first and try to figure out what the picture was before I folded.

Loved Spy vs Spy.
I remember watching a '60 Minutes' episode about the editor of MAD magazine. Quite the character, didn't take sides (although I think he was a bit left-wing but whatever). When he died, he had a stipulation in his will: the staff at the magazine had to re-enact the 'crowded bedroom scene' from Night at the Opera, the old Marx Brothers movie.

I used to play the old Spy Vs Spy game.
They've made into into an app now.

I used to love mad magazine as a kid! Actually right now here in SF at the cartoon museum there's a Mad Magazine exhibit going on.
