Can we start off by agreeing that there are four types of people when it comes to smoking cigarettes?
1. Smokes cigarettes excessively (1 pack per day or MORE)
2. Smokes cigarettes regularly enough to purchase cigarettes (1 pack every few days)
3. Smokes cigarettes when drinking alcohol, typically on weekends, and typically bums them off people.
4. Does not smoke cigarettes (and probably looks down on those who do)
Here is an article that says less than 1 in 5 people smoke cigarettes in the USA, for the first time since the 60s.

We all know, to some degree, HOW BAD cigarettes are for your health -- agreed?
My question is,
1) are you 1,2,3, or 4 ? and
2) does anyone know how many cigarettes on a regular basis it takes to put you at real risk? obviously some are predisposed to lung/throat cancer, etc, but a "smoker" is someone who smokes everyday.... and the difference between smoking 5 cigarettes a day is cosmically different than smoking 25 cigarettes a day.
For the record, I smoke about 8 cigarettes a day for three weeks, and for one week I will have 1-4/day. (Due to my work schedule)

I prefer hookah for my method of smoking. My dad, however has been smoking for 54 years. He's slowly dying and blew me and my sisters college fund on his addiction. So now, he's dying at a younger age with 2 kids that have to depend on government aid for their college education.

And honestly it just depends. My friends aunt started smoking when she was 18 and was dead by the time she was 34. My grandfather started at 19 and died at 71.
I know though that people who start smoking early like 13,14 years old are at an incredibly higher risk to die early. Basically because they start damaging their organs even before they have fully developed.Reps rest from 29k

not always a pack a day, depends on my scedule
on the health risk:
the more you smoke, the higher the risk. i just don't have any numbers
but OP you don't smoke that much
and if you quit while being a heavy smokers it takes +- 10 years to fully recover
so for you even less most likely

Yeah, honestly I feel that only 5 smokes a day isn't going to kill anyone....
And the simple fact that I can quit at any point in time (I test my self by taking a day or two off and see how it makes me feel) makes me more confident.
I'd just hate to be putting myself at an ACTUAL risk of danger with this attitude.

theres a sick commerical on quitting smoking.. a kid asking random strangers if they smoke and they just give the kids reason why smoking is bad and telling them to never do it... then the kid give the stranger a paper saying.. you worry about me but how about yourself?
