    5 x 5 on Bench

So I am doing a 5 x 5 workout for bench pressing, with a warmup, and then 45 pound(just the bar) until failure which is a lot of reps. That is what I do on the bench itself.

My question for everyone is how much weight do I add to each side every week if I get the 5 x 5? If I get the 5 x 5 do I add 2.5 pounds to each side? Or do I add 5 pounds to each side?

    -Lemme know thanks =D

If you can handle a 10lbs increase, do it.

Imho if you can get at least 15 reps for the first 3 sets, increase the weight the following workout by 2.5 - 5lbs added to the total weight (1.25 - 2.5lbs on each side). But DO NOT make big 10lb jumps. The small increments will add up fast enough, and you will be much less likely to plateau.

I thought you don't increase unless you get all 25 reps?

I've never read about any 5 x 5 routine. I'm just stating how me and my dad have always done it, hence the imho. I don't follow any specific routines, ever. I make my own guidelines.
