I don't understand the irrational fear of sugar but there is plenty of stuff to add to food that adds very little calories. I don't know how I lived before I discovered franks red hot and sriracha sauce, there's also other hot sauces. Also, plain spices (pepper, salt, onion powder etc) or pre-mixed spices, grinder spices and rubs. Salsa is good too.

I'll assume OP understands that carbs = carbs no matter where they come from, so I will answer the question for him.
Sugar doesnt fill you up, and simply adds calories to whatever dish you are making. If you are cutting, you would most likely want to use those calories on something else.
Ex. you use 100 calories of sauce, which has 20g of sugar in it. If you take out the 20g of sugar, you now have a 20 calorie sauce and have the same satiety.
But OP is red so who knows if he thought it through beyond "Sugar is bad."
If my post doesnt make sense i'll try to clarify.

I am under the impression that OP believes sugar "goes straight to the belly".
brb fitting chocolate and jam into my cut every day"Never attempt to train yourself into a caloric deficit. Don't spend hours on the treadmill. Diet comes first, cardio second. The dumbest fat loss strategy ever devised is used by people that wake up early in the morning before going to work to do cardio and follow that up with "recovery shake." Congratulations, you just wasted two hours of your life." Martin Berkhan

Hummus
Stuff is great on nearly everything
Make your own....its easy and tastes better.
And you can spice it up a million ways
Kinda need to have a food processor... but you can make everything....
My current homemade hummus...chipolte pumpkin seed....yep Mexican style hummus lol....made pumpkin seed butter instead of tahini...chipolte peppers with abode sauce...garbonzos...olive oil...garlic....Cummings and sea salt....very yummy as veggie dip..06-25-12 = 242lbs.
