...competitive powerlifter that is needed to get you guys in here so you can answer my q's
I am doing a Bench only competition late February thru USAPL, raw/drug tested, read thru tons of info on all the rules and such but I have more questions now than before. I read all of the USA powerlifting rules and regs online.
1. I need to buy a singlet, it sounded like I couldnt have one with a logo on it other than USAPL related? The only ones I'm finding online are METAL brand or Inzer logo on the front pretty big?? I dont want a USAPL one since I will prob compete thru other organizations as well. Where can I get a nice one that is plain?
2.Can my t-shirt underneath have a small Underarmour logo on it or nike check? Not too happy about the no v-neck thing, but I can manage.
3.Can I wear my vibrams? If not what shoes? I dont have anything other than vibrams or nike running tennis shoes..
4.Serious as a heartbeat, can I wear a thong, I've never put on a singlet but dont really want to have lots of layers on or underwear lines , I want to be wearing what I would wear to the gym. Are they going to check me? lol
5.If I decide to do deadlift as well can I use my Elitefts logo belt? It is within the guidelines of the sizing, etc just has the logo on the back pretty big, from the rules book looked like they were picky with logos on anything.
ok those are the only things I can think of right now that Im questioning. Please dont flame me I am clueless in the world of powerlifting. Trying to get everything set NOW and not the day before contest. If anyone is in the Seattle area and wants to go with me that'd be cool too as its my first time.

1 - Inzer/Metal/Titan/HOP is fine. HOP is the plainest of the ones I listed. You could also just get a generic wrestling singlet.
2 - Probably, might depend on the officials. I almost had to go buy a plain t-shirt at Walmart at my last meet because my "Louisiana Strength" shirt wasn't a team shirt.
3 - You can wear Vibrams.
4 - Probably. I'd check the rulebook to be sure. Weigh ins will be in your underwear, so yeah, it'll be checked.
5 - Yep. And make sure you have high socks for deadlift.

Addendum:
2. For shirts, the plainer the better (I have had to go buy a plain t-shirt before). If you're wearing Nike or Underarmour, I'm pretty sure you have to have just like a cotton or cotton/poly t-shirt.
3. I've heard rumors of judges not allowing Vibrams. I've seen worse, so I wouldn't put it past them. Bring backup shoes.
4. You can wear a thong.314/231/352/881@123

I would say the Vibrams probably will pass. I will be competing at the meet and the judges are good but not terrrible nazis. It is a well run meet and the judges are fair. See you there and have fun!

trolling no Serious as a heartbeat just clueless in the world of powerlifting. Ive got a few places I can contact in the area to see if they can check my stuff over before the meet. On the internet who the ef cares what pics are posted but IRL my husband is weird about things, not that its any diff than being at the beach in a bikini or something.
Ive done one VERY amateur on base competition but you could wear whatever you wanted and they had raw/suited competing against eachother the judging was very professional on the actual lifts as was the setup so I have no experience on what to expect at a real meet.Elitefts rox!!
