I have journeyed over from the normal male misc section. I am not here to white knight. I have come here to get some advice from a female point of view.
Saw this girl on FB, and I wanna get to know her. We have 1 mutual friend which i have never see/spoken to in my life. Also the girl im interested we have never met or spoke.
I plan on sending her a message, would it be creepy if i do? she a few years younger than me.
For the time being I just wanna get to know her, set up a date maybe etc.

Send her a message and let her know basically what you have told us. That you noticed her profile b/c you have a mutual friend and you are interested in getting to know her. She will check you out and if interested you'll hear back, if not then-- oh well you tried. Personally, I would not find it creepy at all.

I think this will end well for you OP.I will try to be nicer, when you try to be smarter.
I'm the kind of girl who carries her real Glock in her fake Coach...except have a real Coach because I hate faking it.
Why do you need a side dish? Just eat the meat.
When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.

I have 2 daughters and there is no way I would let them date an 18 yr old. There is a big difference between 15 and 18. I don't care what anyone says, find a girl closer to your age maybe a year or 2 older.
My mother forbid me to date a guy who was 18 and I was 16...now I understand why.National Level Competitor (Female BB)

Bad? Idk, it's all situational. I dated a guy when I was 16 who was 18 BUT my parents had been neighbors with his parents for years and I kind of grew up with the guy. We ended up dating for 3 years off and on and had a mutual break up because we just wanted different things in life.
That being said, you seem like a nice guy but I can also see the parents side of being against you contacting her. I have a thing to say to all the parents in this thread - younger generations are growing up from a very young age with social networking always in front of them. It wouldn't surprise me if sites like ******** and Twitter and Myspace became very big players in their young adult lives... Aka a way to meet/expand their friend pool and possibly end up dating someone they met online.
On the contrary, I DO agree that anyone met online should be taken with high skepticism no matter what age the people are that are communicating. My suggestion, sit down with your kids (girls AND boys) and explain this to them and teach them how to be smart (ie- not give away personal information to strangers such as their last name, address, phone #, email) when in situations like this. Also if they ever plan to meet someone from online, to do so in a VERY public place that you are already highly familiar with, during the day, and to always let a friend or family member know where you are going and that you will call them once the meeting is over (or possibly even have that friend or parent pick them up later).
In this case, since the girl is so young, I would probably suggest a group hangout somewhere like at the mall or arcade or something. I can pretty much garrentee everyone's kids out there are going to get into some sort of situation that parents don't approve of, so let's feed these kids with the knowledge to make SMART choices of the "acceptable" way to react if they should be in these situations.
I don't know if this has been said, but do you know how close you are distance wise to this girl? Like would it even be possible to hang out with her if the occasion should present itself?

FWIW, depending on where he lives 15 probably isn't illegal. In some states the age of consent is 14. In others it's higher, but if you are within a certain age buffer (usually three years) it's not illegal, so as in this case an 18 yo with a 15 yo would be legal... just don't take her picture. You just have to check the laws in your area to see what is / isn't legal.
That being said, I can't imagine dating a girl that young. I actually find even most of the girls my age are still pretty immature, I've been dating girls older than me.

Yeah this may be true but as a father with a daughter that age. I am pretty sure that some random 18yo dude starts talking to her on FB I am pretty sure I know the outcome already.
I don't know at 18 I did not see dating a chick that age. I mean even when I was working in a pizza joint in college there were some cute young girls that worked there but I can't say I was ever thinking about getting with them I can't deal with immaturity and if someone wants to give me the 15-16yo girls are mature speech you can save that **** for someone that does not know any better.
