    Question Boil vs Microwaving Vegetables - does it matter?

    does it matter whether you boil or microwave your veggies?

    If you can, steam them, it keeps most of the nutrients in the veggies, while microwaving them destroys some of the nutrients.

    Cooking methods that minimizes the time, temperature, and amount of water needed will help to preserve nutrients.

    This makes microwaving one of the best ways to cook and retain nutrients. Followed by pressure cooking, steaming and stir frying. Boiling is one of the worst.

    Some cooking is generally better than raw as well. Cooking helps breakdown the cell walls of plants, allowing for better absorption of nutrients by the body.

    The key is, find a method that is quick, uses very little water and has lower temperatures.
