    Anyone else here do Crossfit?

I just signed up at a Golds and met a couple of the trainers. One of them is a certified Crossfit instructor, so he invited me to do a work out with them.

    We did:
    275lbsx10 Deadlift
    10 burpees
    10 BW pull-ups
    Three rounds for time.

My time was 10:45, and I thought I was going to die! Very intense workout.

Yo man your front squat is pretty beefy, along with your push press. I'm surprised your clean is only 10lbs more than your push press. I can clean that pretty easily, my front squat is close, my push press is way less than yours.

The clean and push press stats are 1 year + old and from before I had a solid understanding of form. The front squats are only from two months ago.

Haven't trained any overhead work in about a year, coming back now from a shoulder injury.

Well yesterday was my first time doing a crossfit workout with the exception of doing there "Fran" and "Cindy" workouts here and there to mix it up. I'll probably start doing crossfit once or twice a week.

www.coachdos.com his power training program is the one which I currently do, which has totally changed everything for me.

Thanks, and just fyi, my point was that one couldn't read too much into the ratios there. Not sure if that was clear.

There's a very knowledgeable trainer over at EB.net who swears by crossfit training. He starts doing crossfit in the 2nd half of this journal. It seems interesting and very demanding.

    Here's his journal http://www.extremebodybuilding.net/f...it-nation.html

    Does your unit train CrossFit?

I'm switching over to primarily CrossFit once I'm done with my current program, strength is going on the backburner while I get as close to a 300 APFT as possible.

I still train in the gym. I only do crossfit 3x a week in the morning. I hit the gym late in the afternoon and train BJJ 3x a week after the gym. Ever since I started crossfit, I have lost just a little strenght but I am feeling a lot better cardio wise. I ran my Army PT test last week and hit a 11:58 2 mile run.

Help me get today's workout straight:

Three rounds, 21-15- and 9 reps, for time of:
    95 pound Thruster
    Pull-ups

This means 3 sets of 21 reps, 15 reps, and 9 reps of the 95 pound barbell thruster, then the same pullups in sets and reps.

Also, if the workout takes say 15 minutes...is that all you do that day for your workout or do you add your own stuff in?

What you do is set the stop watch and then do

    thrusters x 21
    pullups x 21

    thrusters x 15
    pullups x 15

    thrusters x 9
    pullups x 9

    for time.

Some days I add some extra stuff, some days I puke in a garbage can, like yesterday.

I don't know in any of you are familar with Gant's Hybrid program, but I just started that and I have already seen gains in strength and fitness - it is a good mix of heavy power/oly lifting and metcon (there are also some gymnastics, but I haven't attempted any of them yet). You can find it in the crossfit forums.

This was fukin hard. Pullups chest to bar, and I don't think I've ever done thrusters THAT low. I barely broke 11 minutes, a good time is 4 minutes!!! How often do they cycle the WOD so you can compare times?

And I will train with my normal split later in the day if I'm not doing much that day and if the CF workout wasn't too long. But I just started it this week so it's all just speculation right now, but damnnn I'm sore.

Yea it looks easy but this **** is crrazy. Like you said pullups are to the chest and thrusters are no joke.

It seems like workouts cycle around 2 or 3 months.
