I drink zero alcohol for the first 2 weeks into keto while my body adjusts. With your body prioritizing the processing of alcohol first, the ketones can build up and lower your blood ph. And top that off with your body already retaining very little water, alcohol dehydrating you further, and the whole process of gluconeogenesis gets held up. Look up ketoacidosis. Hard liquor/wine/beer it's all the same, just seems worse the first couple weeks.

Yea I went 14 days without any. Now I'm just keeping it to a couple glasses of wine if I have anything. But... carb up day tomorrow! Woot!
