No I don't think Israel wants to occupy Gaza, given my previous post about them disengaging from Gaza in 2005, uprooting Jewish graves, and literally handing the Palestinians billions of dollars worth of infrastructure that the Palestinians didn't even use, they destroyed.
I don't necessarily agree with most settlements. I think that some military presence in the West Bank is justified given the fact Palestinian terrorists target Israeli civilians - that don't live in settlements. But again your moaning about ethnic cleansing is purely projection, as Arabs are safe anywhere in Israel. But Jews? Imagine a Jew walking down Gaza today. Or Ramalla or Jenin. You can't. Theyd get beheaded.
I think Hamas now, and the PLO previously really F'd up their chances at creating an independent Palestinian state. They had at least 3 chances. F'd them all up.
And because of "Palestine must be free from the river to the sea" ...this is a genocidal/ethnic cleansing chant to make Israel judenfrei. What's wild is this is exposed now to the west. Most people didn't understand what that meant, but as conflict is now front and center in the news, and pro-palestinian protests are chanting this phrase, more people are waking up to the fact the "free Palestine" movement has no intention of a 2 state solution. They want ethnic cleansing of Jews. The gig is up.

You will fight for the elite ruling class in their wars, and you will like it….except their kids won't be fightingTsar Ivan IV Grozny:
“And if you, having a dog's mouth, want to bark for fun—that's your custom as a serf: it is an honor to you, but it is disgrace for us to think of you, let alone to snarl back at you, and there is naught worse in this world than to bark along with you, and if you want to bark, find yourself a serf like you, and bark with him."

I still dont see this expanding into a wider conflict, although if iran keeps going with its drone attacks on US bases via rebel groups they could be due for some freedom paid for by uncle sam.
So far the attacks have been small and sparse resulting in minor injuries to 24 Us personnel, no damage to infrastructure aside from one small hangar. USA coming out today talking some mad **** though, heard some US military dude saying iranian kids wont be raised by their fathers if they want war with the US lmao.

It would probably be argued the US should be there to take care of Iran as their turning a blind eye to oil exports is likely what helped fund everything that’s happening right now, but it’s a tough af situation. Iran is supplying around 3million barrels per day of oil last I saw, and that coming off the market will just drive prices up and put more burden particularly on developing countries.

Idc about burdens on developing countries tbh. I dont want an impact on me here in canada lmao.
Venezuela is opening up its markets from what i hear, with US companies investing in infrastructure. Not sure that would be in time to offset any of what could happen here though.
I really wish our country wouldnt have continuously assraped our potential for o&g production/export.

Here is the text without any color tags:
U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blinken told a group of American Jewish community leaders on Monday that he asked the Qatari prime minister less than two weeks ago to tone down Al Jazeera's rhetoric about the war in Gaza, according to three people who attended the meeting.
Why it matters: Blinken's comments suggest the administration, which has asserted its support for the independent press globally, is concerned Al Jazeera's framing of the conflict could escalate tensions in the region.
Background: The Al Jazeera Media Network is funded by the Qatari government but maintains it operates independently. Critics have said it reflects the foreign policy position of Qatar, which has faced scrutiny over its ties to Hamas.
- Israel has accused Al Jazeera of being "a propaganda mouthpiece" for Hamas.
- The Al Jazeera press office did not respond to requests for comment.
- Al Jazeera has been described by the Council on Foreign Relations as one of the Qatari government's soft power tools that allows it to have political influence in the Middle East and around the world.
- Blinken appeared to be talking about Al Jazeera Arabic, not Al Jazeera English.
Behind the scenes: Blinken told American Jewish leaders on Monday that when he was in Doha on Oct. 13 he asked the Qatari government to change its public posture towards Hamas, three people who attended the meeting said.
- According to the three attendees, Blinken said he gave toning down Al Jazeera coverage of the war in Gaza as an example of steps the Qatari government can take to do this. Blinken said he asked the Qataris to "turn down the volume on Al Jazeera's coverage because it is full of anti-Israel incitement," according to one source.
- Blinken didn't give any examples of the heightened rhetoric he asked to be dialed back.
- The State Department declined to comment on Blinken's remarks about Al Jazeera.
- The Qatari Foreign Ministry did not respond to requests for comment.
The big picture: Speaking alongside Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani in Doha, Blinken said "there can be no more business as usual with Hamas."
Yes, but: The Biden administration is dependent on Qatar's mediation with Hamas, which led last week to the release of two American hostages.
- A State Department official said Blinken is "deeply appreciative of the role Qatar is playing" in securing the release of hostages.
- "We know Qatar has an open line of communication with Hamas," White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby told reporters on Tuesday.

1) Hostages in the tunnel
2) Tunnel warfare is literal suicide.
For years, Egypt tried to flood those tunnels in an attempt to flush out Hamas. But it never worked. Hamas claims they've dug around 100 miles of tunnel networks (reinforced with steel beams and concrete over the years).Everything I post is satire.

Probably not. Even if they can, it will cost more Israeli lives than any politician can justify. Urban warfare in enemy tunnels with hostages is a nightmarish scenario. Especially not a politician who is already under fire for allowing this to happen under his watch, and has other issues going on (fraud/bribery/corruption charges and political grievances regarding his actions towards Israeli court systems).
You can go all out and bomb the whole city into rubble, but that’s also a losing scenario, because it will almost certainly escalate the conflict into a bigger one, and that’s what some enemies of Israel wanted all along.I've been seeing the past in one eye and the present in the other. So, I thought I could only see patches of reality, never the whole picture. I felt like I was watching a dream I could never wake up from. Before I knew it, the dream was over.

I honestly think all parties involved wanted this: Israel, Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, Evangelical Christian Zions.
They all want a decisive battle to lay this issue to rest once and for all.
Gaza is actually prime real estate and would be literal paradise on earth if it weren't a giant prison camp. Have you ever seen the sunset over the Mediteranean Sea? It's aesthetic.
Israel is determined to reclaim that piece of real estate.Everything I post is satire.
