Haven't been around in 5ever, but our household has been through A LOT.
Our pup count increased by one. We rescued another frenchie and named her Summer. She came to us with limited vision (and degenerative eye issues). Shortly after bringing her home, Minerva had to have back surgery. It was a heart breaking and very trying time, and while it's been 5 months, she still has a bit to go until she is 100%, hoping she does get back to 100%. Basically during the first 6 weeks of post surgery, she could not walk on her own, and we had to sling her around. Now she is running as fast as ever, just doesn't handle sharp turns like she used to, but is smashing the puppy just fine lol. Anyways, here is summer, a road trip collage (butch up front, and the girls in the back together) and then a family pic.

Would any of you ever rescue a dog that is over 7? That equates to a human in their 50’s btw if you go by dog years.
I have someone who has had an almost 8 year old dog since it was a puppy and he’s leaving florida and can’t bring him.
I am not saying I am going up for sure .
But wondering if any miscer would adopt one that’s a senior citizen? Is this setting yourself up for heartbreak? Or what’s your views on it.
I can never get a puppy agein but it’s so much work. I would be rescuing adopting if I ever were to get a new dog. But I guess I thought 6 months to 3 years old age rangeBLM (Brock Lesnar Matters)

It is a boxer. He’s mine if I want to take him when his owner leaves florida.
I am hoping owner changes his mind tbh but I think taking him in would be the right thing for the dog. I feel bad he’s going to lose his family when they relocate to Texas.BLM (Brock Lesnar Matters)

I think it would be great if you took him. What are their other options? I would hope they wouldn't give their 8 year old dog to a shelter. He'd be so stressed and may spend his last months/years in a cage stressed to the max. I've seen it happen and it's horrible.
If I'm ever at the point where I want another dog I'll prob just foster. I'd love to foster seniors.
Your puppers are so sweet!
I guess I never updated here. I lost my boo in March. He'd been sick off and on for months and was going downhill so I had to make the heartbreaking decision to put him to sleep. He would have been 12 in April so he was old as well. I miss him so very much.~ In a world where you can be anything, be kind ~

Yesterday I had to say goodbye to the cutest puppy in the world. It was probably one of the toughest thing I have ever had to do. I have posted plenty of pics of my Samoyed in this thread and others including the doggies in the snow thread in my signature
He was a wonderful dog who taught me a lot. He was loved and will be very missed.
Yeah, I'm old, been here for years before posting. Son posts as well.

What a sweet picture! I had a photo book made of all the pics I had of my son and him together. I put a bunch of good dog quotes and it came out really nice. It's a great keepsake for him. It was really hard to do even all these months later looking at the pics. Eventually I'm going to do one of all the pics I have of me and my boo.
Thank you. It's really hard. It's been months and I'm the same way still. They will always be in our hearts.~ In a world where you can be anything, be kind ~

January 16, 2023 I lost my best boy. I like to believe they live on, Blackjack and Lilly especially. Like they’re playing somewhere else over rainbow bridge.
No new dogs. The neighbor luckily decided his heart can’t let him give up their dog. Good imo. He’s that dogs whole world. Like I was my boxers May they rip.
I know all these feels itt. But they had a very good life. I did too because of them.BLM (Brock Lesnar Matters)

I used Shutterfly and googled dog quotes. I used a bunch of the ones on this site:

I'm glad your neighbor kept his dog. I can't imagine getting rid of a dog that has bonded to you.
I love your pics of your dogs! They are so sweet! Sounds like a great day.~ In a world where you can be anything, be kind ~
