You watched in the 80s too right? It would be one thing if he could never get past the Celtics in just his first year or two, or came into the league at 18 or something, but after all those beat downs in his early to mid 20s there's no reason to believe they'd ever get past Larry if it wasn't for father time and their injuries. LBJ won the East 8 straight times, and half the times with garbage around him.

I admit it, I went to Carolina, I am biased. But looking at the first three years he averaged 35.5, 6.3, 6.9, 2.4 SPG, 1.9 BPG in those post seasons. Sydney Moncrief guarded Jordan in his first playoffs. The two time DPOTY and only guard to win DPOTY twice. And the next two years he went against 9 times all defense Dennis Johnson.

For a threepeating team against good competition, there were actually significant holes in the Bulls' lineup 91-93. Their starting center was straight up bad, their bench was probably about average at best, and their starting point guard was maybe average.

Their PF was firmly in the 'good' category, Pippen was great, and Jordan was Jordan. But when people say LeBron never had teammates like Jordan, they're pretty much only thinking of 96-97. Even in 98, Pippen was just about tapped out as far as what he could do in the playoffs.

And yes I am extremely biased.

I totally forgot you went to UNC. Yeah MJ was fun to watch, and if someone was going wild on them he'd guard them the next game. He played defense.

So who are the idiots in here doing keto? I know bb3 was, but hasn't posted in a while. Maybe GS, but who can follow what he writes. I'm starting a keto blast to see what all the hype is about. Bacon and eggs. Apparently your body uses fat for fuel instead of sugar...or something like that.

    That's how I'll getcha.

BTW bacon and eggs sounds more like the postermeal for paleo. With my past habit of regular drinking, I've always felt that gauging diet effectiveness is somewhat frivolous, though I suppose with the fact that I've moved beyond beer and even wine, I can experiment more directly with diet structures, even though stuff like vodka will still interfere.

Around my join date I restricted carbs as much as I could except for 3 or 4 beers a night I think and got a concurrent 10-15 lb reduction, which is inline with what people say about water loss. As far as going to the gym, energy was about the same, but my workout at the time was kinda blunted with stagnation and I was mainly recycling calories anyway, focusing on an obscure mixture of anaerobic/aerobic cardio.

Veganism was a more suitable experiment with consideration to beer, and overall lifestyle energy was compromised via stress without ample protein/fat intake from animal meat or even eggs and dairy. Veganism is more of a lifestyle adaptation where a common consensus is that you are constantly skimming through listed ingredients at the store for stuff that might go under your radar (like for deserts). It also went hand and hand with the humidity in Hawaii, where you just kinda have to roll with it, but beyond that, body fat and workout performance didn't really change. I think it is true that your body becomes open season for carb intake, as I had a whole 17 ounce packet of pasta once like it was nothing.

I'm of the mind that if you have a running knowledge of how macronutrients between each other affect your physical energy, then you can appropriate it into a sustainable lifestyle with activity and an aim to achieve some respectable level of fitness. That being said, I'm not certain as to the difference in active ingredients between Keto and Atkins. Paleo and veganism tend to just refine your overall focus to varying degrees, but carb or fat restriction tends to be consistent with each other as well but on a strictly nutritional backdrop without applied consideration for physical activity/exertion.

Personally I'd ease up on the burgers if that's your case. Idunno it might be the cheese and the bun, but those things catch up to me. Me, I just grilled a skirt steak. Many people in colder areas of the world know it better as a steak they've never heard of (or is that tri-tip?). I was worried because I hear it can be an unforgiving steak if done wrong, but it came out absolutely wonderful on those grates. Of course it's really thin so I didn't even have to roast it after searing. Very much looking forward to marinades and herbal rubs.

Speaking of cardio, I got back into my half-mile sprinting at the gym. I started at 8.5 MpH and am trying to push one at 11.5 right now. I think I'll have it in a few sessions if not by the next one. Maybe after that I'll do some 45 minute runs with my newly acquired strength and form. Doing those when I'm unconditioned just wrecks me. It's not the most grueling 2.5-3 minutes, but 2.5-3 minutes after stepping off the treadmill and I get insanely flushed and my lower jaw becomes acutely strained for some reason. Not sure what's going on with all that.

Speaking of cardio, I got back into my half-mile sprinting at the gym. I started at 8.5 MpH and am trying to push one at 11.5 right now. Actually it's just one quarter pounder, can substitute steak in too once in a while. The key is I'm taking in practically 0 carbs or sugar!
Nice work on they ole cardio, I still think cardio is the key, but I need to also clean up the diet a little so figured i'd experiment with this keto stuff. Total cals are under 2000 so either way it'll work brilliantly!

Can't go wrong with a big ass steak as a main meal with no sides. Ditto for bacon and eggs. Breakfast of champions.

Where it all goes wrong as you know is all the extra carbs. Burger bun, pasta, rice, pizza dough, and then you're washing it all down with beer or sugary drinks which compounds the problem. You should have seen my diet at my fast food peak. Easily 7000 a day just to maintain.

8am — metric fukton of bacon + 6 eggs + WPI shake in whole milk
9am — rolled up to work with a 600ml chocolate milk, 500ml energy drink, and a few chocolate bars
    10.30 — foot long Sub + Coke
12pm — two 350g steaks from the pub + two plates of chips + jug of beer or two consumed while playing pool or two double chicken burgers from Nando's
3pm — double quarter pounder meal and assorted junk
6pm — double whopper meal on the way home (lived in the city so it was a 15 min walk home)
8pm — protein shake then grab a cheeseburger pre WO and guzzle a over a liter of Gatorade during the workout
    10pm — large pizza PWO + Coke
1am — finish the second pizza
2.30am — can of tuna + large WPI whole milk shake before bed

Fast forward to 2018 and around 6 months now fast food free. Haven't gone near a drive-thru and don't even think about it. I just shop for fresh ingredients every second night and cook everything.

Why would I order Domino's when I can make this with fresh mozzarella and not some shredded garbage from a defrosted bag tossed on there by some kid who can't wait to clock off and text his girlfriend? No one is going to care about your meal as much as you so you might as well learn how to make it right.

What do you do for the sauce? I've seen a lot of people advocate just crushing the tomatoes without much effort from there, but I also heard that 700+ F degree ovens cooks it more naturally, so not sure if that's the condition. I simmered some for a couple hours, but it was pretty watery by the time the pizza was done. I also used all the water in the can lol.

It's a pretty lackluster time for 800m by any runner's standards, but just 5 minutes on the treadmill every other day and it's improving performance one way or the other. While I only progressed with a regular increment today, I feel like I coulda blasted it all the way to .5 miles. I hit the front handle bar a few times accidentally as well when I kicked on the power whereas the previous session I was practically slowing down at that point.

Yeah I thought I always ate a lot, probably more than 95%, as most my life I was looking to add weight without any worry about fat... but was never at that level of consumption! I'm a rook at this dieting stuff, just starting to learn about carbs and I'm convinced they gotta go. Fast food joints and Deutschland beer probably doesn't help with carbs. 40s suck at easily putting on weight around the waist, but the good news is I don't really lose muscle like I thought, even when not really lifting as often.

I've done it both ways but recently found some sauce in a tub that's freshly made that tastes good enough to spare me all the extra time spent making a sauce because at the end of the day I'm trying to strike a balance between flavor and convenience.

The best approach would be simmering for a long time and then put it into a strainer. With the best pizza people probably say the sauce is good enough to be consumed like a soup. That's not happening straight out of a can.

What I've found through trial and error is to spread the sauce thin in the center and scatter some grated cheese on first before salami, prosciutto, etc. and also ease up on the cheese in the middle. That way the thinnest part of the slice doesn't get weighed down and turn to slop with everything sliding off not to mention moisture from fresh mozzarella and cured meat also finds its way there which compounds the problem.

I've been putting the fresh buffalo mozzarella into coffee filter paper and then sandwiching it all between some paper towels and squeezing the crap out of it until it's the right consistency. Cheesecloth is probably the best material to use but the disposable option is working for me.

That's definitely what it takes to get up there in size and stay there. He's a beast and obviously paid a lot of money to be 290lbs and strong as an ox but I'm sure he'd admit there's a lot of everyday stuff where being that size is a compromise even if it's such a huge part of his identity.

Outside of sport that size that is good for two things: lifting a lot of weight in the gym and looking more intimidating to other meatheads. Both not really important in the grand scheme of things. There's no way I could have gone to the gym and just lifted to maintain or lean out after a decade of pushing it to the limit so the only way to not be around 300lbs was to stop lifting altogether. I also completely avoided weighing myself because I didn't want to know what I lost because it could have tempted me to go back in there.

I don't care what anyone says — beyond a certain age that weight is not healthy (regardless of bf%) due to the demands it places on the heart and other organs.

BTW, the strongest player in NBA history also had the endurance to average 45.8 minutes through his 1,045 games. One season he averaged 48.5 minutes/game, playing in every game. There's 48 minutes in a regulation game.
