We finally did it boys. After many setbacks and mistakes being made
pic dump below:
Spoiler!
So my old PC:
i7-4790k w/ Hyper 212 Evo cooler
Zotac Amp Extreme! GTX 980ti
16GB Ram
Firestrike score:
The CPU idled around 35, and got to 65 usually under load. GPU saw around 60 under load (never paid attention to idle)
New PC:
i7-8700k w/ Noctua NH D15 cooler
Aorus GTX 1080ti
32GB Ram
Firestrike score:
The CPU idles around 28, and got to 60 maximum under load. GPU saw 72 maximum.
And details of tonight's adventure:
- Got cooler in mail
- Proceed to build
- Go to turn on PC, it lights up for a few seconds, fans turn on, then spin off
- Heart sinks, this happened when I broke my last MOBO
- Turns out it was just the fan settings and pulsing because I didn't have the right drivers installed
- Got so excited to build, I forgot to put in my 3 top 120mm fans
- Go back and add them, now zero of my fans turn on
- Turns out I forgot the PWM 12V Sata connection. Add that, all fans work
- PC Master Race
Observations so far:
- This Phantek case is awesome. Super easy cable management and aesthetics through the roof
- I still need to add 2 LED strips before I get the lighting I want
- These Corsair AF fans are so much quieter than the SPs that I used in my last build
- Noctua DH15 is silent until put under heavy load
- I never want to build a PC again+++ Positive Crew +++

The new picture is pretty messy. I will take better ones later, but I even redid my RGB lighting to go behind the desk and not the monitors. Makes it look a lot better. Also have my panels off my PC as they are in the machine shop getting cut for better airflow.█ ٩(̮̮̃̃)۶ Random Crew ٩ █

55" foldable desk for 83 bucks. 5 mins left i have it and its pretty nice
Also wondering if anyone has something similar. I want to add a cable rack but don't want to drill into desk. There are a few holes in the metal frame that looks like i could use for that. The furthest apart 2 holes are about 30 inches.Steam/Origin id: Fivefootkillerz RSN: Hi cookie

I've got dual 34" monitors and a 40" lol. It's a little overkill.
I literally only use the 40" for Discord + Spotify.
a single 27" vertically mounted would give me much more utility for 1/8th the price.
das it mane. you know my pains.
we'll have to get in some Fortnite games soon!
Since upgrading I'm only noticing like a 20 FPS increase... not sure if my settings got moved to higher graphics or if I really just wasted $3k lmao
I think you dun goofed bro.
Went from so much real estate to such a small amount.
When I clicked on the before I was like, awe yeah that's nice. I was expecting that the after pic would be 3 monitors, and a 40" mounted up top.
My reaction to the after pic:

Idk, for me, multiple smaller monitors will always be better than one, or several big monitors.
I always have like a billion tabs open though.
In other news, I just learned how to use ICC profiles to calibrate monitors. ho lee phuk my Microboard M340CLZ was WAAAAYYY out of whack. Literally lifechanging.+++ Positive Crew +++

I can easily have 4 windows open on the big screen. I usually use two windows there. Yea you didn't know about monitor profiles lol? I did that with my old 144hz TN Asus monitor. My video is still uploading. Will post soon.
You need to make sure you're in pc (game) mode which reduces input lag. Also make sure you're video card is capable of running 4k@60hz which you change in the video card settings. You may even have to purchase a hdmi 2.0 cable too. Another thing your TV may also need to be changed in settings for your inputs and make sure it's set to hdmi 2.0 and not auto. Different brands have different options.█ ٩(̮̮̃̃)۶ Random Crew ٩ █

Yep that could very well be it. Its a shame the way manufacturers and product developers play that input confusion game. Especially when its so easy to color code -- or just label these things so you know before purchase whether you're getting the connection you think you are.
I'm also sending notes to reviewers that they need to mention that in the reviews and invite other to do so as well.
Don't just tell us the device has 3 USB ports, but what type and version as well. Even the newest USB C doesn't always carry the same specification:
The "C" just means its capable of a certain speed/power rating, but may not necessarily be connected that way on the device you purchased.🎥

Sweet! Also go into your Nvidia desktop/monitor color settings and change it to Nvidia then to 4:4:4. You'll see it under drop down menu.

True, about the multiple windows. My 40" 4k has greater screen real estate than 4 22" 1080p monitors, but I just don't have a use for it.
I knew about ICC profiles, but back a year ago when I initially tried, I couldn't get them to work. Turns out I'm really dumb and it was a simple fix.
fukkin hnnnnnng
your PC is easily my favorite aesthetics wise that I've seen in here
still gonna stick to my guns that you should've gone with the triple monitors and the big TV tho.
Is all that noise I hear from fans / PC water pumps?

lmao now I'm just watching all your YT videos. This one has me rolling

Haha. Yes you can hear the fans cause I don't have my panels on as they are in the machine shop. Plus I run them on high. The air machine pc is actually more quiet lol.
I'm actually going to go ultrawide sometime in 2018. So that adds a bit more real-estate. Also my desk is pretty big but I don't like having it cluttered with a bunch of **** either.
Lol yea that was my stickman costume I made last year.█ ٩(̮̮̃̃)۶ Random Crew ٩ █
