..and got him to do a shout out to my main IFBB Brahs!
Got a quick pic and then I said do a shout out for me to which he said no problem. Overall a nice guy but shame he was sitting down as would rather have got a classic hand shake/finger point pic to show my good arm ha

Gotta be honest mate, you could tell he had freaky muscle bellies but I wasn't blown away by the overall size. I've met lots of pros and he's probably the least 'freakish' but as we all know, he grows into the O and so maybe he's smaller now than he will be at the O? Or maybe it's all just the art of illusion! He was also sitting down so hard to judge as much I suppose. Very nice guy tho and seemed happy to meeting everyone.
I met CT Fletcher last weekend and as soon as I saw him I was blown away by the size of his arms! He was one cool dude!IG: waldronconstruction

Phil doesn't look very big in the pic. Doesn't look much bigger than OP tbh, but must be because he is seated. I met him at the Arnold in March and he was wearing a sleeveless sweatshirt and his arms did look freakish in person. Out of all the athletes I met at the Arnold, Phil, Flex, and Dennis looked the freakiest up close.
Progressive overload + progressive eating = gains. Simple as that!

Can confirm, Phil isn't as humungous as the other pros in the off season. When I met Jay Cutler he was 300lbs. Phil is still big but not like "holy ****" but I've seen him in person in March & September and it's like a whole diff person.

Nice one lads. He definitely still looked freaky in the muscle belly dept, just not a large person. He definitely has a smaller natural structure but has packed on the muscle to the extreme. As for me looking big, I'll take that as a big compliment considering I'm currently down on weight a fair bit to what I'm used to. Back into the gym tho so in a other month or so I may be a bit bigger hopefully!

I didn't train for a while (year or so) due to work being super busy and in some cases only getting to the gym once a month! But I got back into it for a whole month and then my lower back got injured 6 weeks last Monday and since then I've been the gym 3 times, one of which was the day before I met Phil.
Back pain is easing off now and I got some strong pain killers off the doc so hopefully can keep training again. I go on holiday 3 weeks this Wednesday so want to look as good as I can! Ha

Nice, Wala!
Yeah, a lotta people underestimate the illusion aspect of it. For example, DLB and Juliana Malacarne. Both of them are not as big as they seem when you meet them in person. Their round muscle makes them stand out more. Same with Phil. He's said himself that he's never gonna be the biggest guy. Round muscle pops out more, looks bigger on stage(compared to offseason), and is more impressive when in contest condition. Of course, being developed from all angles helps, too.
