The Cleveland Public Library has the largest e-book collection in the nation believe it or not and I'm currently on the waiting list for about five books. I have a real hard time spending money on a book when I can get one from the library for free so I don't have anything to read at this very moment. The cheap kindle books on amazon almost always suck and it's rare I get a good one.

I'm with you! My library has a huge selection of e-books and audiobooks too. I don't have an e-reader, as I'm undecided about that. I do love the feel of a book - prefer hardcovers but softcovers are better for commuting. Occasionally, I'll buy a book, but for the most part borrow from the library. (Alas, I just don't have the space for all the books I'd like.)

I've just started "Still Life" by Louise Penny. I happened to spot the book in a wee bookstore in a little small town. She's Canadian, and lives in a small village outside Montreal. This is the first in the Inspector Armand Gamache series. So far, so good!

I haven't been a reader of the classics. After being forced to read several of them in high school and write reports about the symbolism and stuff, they left a bad taste in my mouth. So in my stubborn streak, I never read Hemingway. However I am a fan of historical novels, and I recently read The Paris Wife, which made me want to read Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises. I just started it; about 1/3 of the way through now. I can't believe I hadn't discovered Hemingway until now!
Next I plan to try Rules of Civility that FlaIron recommended.

I'm currently reading a bunch of boring stuff for school. But I'm using my commute time to listen to two different audio books.
1) Happier: Learn the Secrets to Daily Joy and Lasting Fulfillment by Tal Ben-Shahar
2) Johannes Cabal the Necromancer by Jonathan l. Howard
The first is the type of book you listen to, and then go off to do "homework." I enjoy it, but it takes more "digestion" time than a typical book. The second is just pure fun. Readers of Christopher Moore would probably like it a lot.Simp's Back: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=165133671&page=1

Last Saturday I went to a Church book sale down in Lincoln. Bought about 20 books for $70 one of which was this huge unused '1931 Real Estate Tax Records for Furnas County, NE' another was this journal. The journal had about 10 or so pages cut out of it but the rest are blank.
I had to buy these because they are just so wicked cool looking. The picture is of my wife's cat Mr. Tibbles sitting atop of them. He looks like a little statue... LOL (two of our cats think these are the greatest things to perch on LOL)

Nice picture :-)
Last night I finished "The Dark Tower" - the final book in the Stephen King series (of seven books).
I say "final" but he also published a side story "The Wind Through The Keyhole" which I'll probably pick up next.
I really enjoyed the series...after reading the final page I kinda just sat there for a while, mouth opening and closing, grinding noises coming from my brain as I tried to digest it all.

Just finished Neil Gaimans "Ocean at the End of the Lane" - lovely shorter story that made for a good Sunday afternoons reading.
Stephen Kings "Doctor Sleep" is released on Tuesday...been looking forward to it since hearing about it last year...and in many ways it's a book I've wanted to read since finishing the original 20+ years ago. It's the follow up to "The Shining"...following the life of Danny after the events at the Overlook hotel.
