How do you think Brock Lesnar will fare in the UFC? That is one massive dude, isn't he fighting Frank Mir?

Lesnar wrestled at Webster High School in Webster, South Dakota where he managed to have a 33-0 record in his senior year. [6] Lesnar later attended the University of Minnesota on a full wrestling scholarship for his junior and senior years of college; his roommate was fellow professional wrestler Shelton Benjamin who also served as Lesnar's assistant coach.[7] Lesnar won the 2000 NCAA wrestling championship as a heavyweight after placing second in 1999. I keep hearing he's only been training full time for MMA about a year.
I too hope he get's KTFO because he hasn't done ANYTHING to deserve a fight with Mir or to even be in UFC. Other fighters who have been training for several years fighting in these 3rd world local fights while working a job just to make ends meet are doing everything they can to work up the ladder; meanwhile Lesnar, who looks like he's taking a huge **** in every pic I see of him with that dick tatoo'ed on his chest, pretends to wrestle in WWE and wrestled for real about a decade ago just skips to the front of the line and says "I'm a MMA'ist, I fought once so I'm here to take it all!".
Bull****, he's a publicity stunt that will prove to go wrong soon enough.I'm not saying we should kill all the stupid and lazy people, just that we should eliminate warning labels and welfare, let the problem take care of itself.

you can thanks Dana for that. its not Lesnars fault. i agree that he does need more than 1 whole pro fight to prove himself and get the chance to be in the largest mma show in the world. i know there are alot of fighters out there that can't afford to train fulltime, they have to provide fot their families also. it sucks but unfortunately, thats life. its reall boils down to the ppv ratings and $$$$$$$$$$$.
Lesnar does have some great grappling skills. if he can learn some stand up and if he doesn't have a glass jaw, he may do well. he may suprise some people.
like i said before i think he should earn the right fo this kind of fight. but it aggrevates the ****e out of me that some people are putting him down because he was in the WWE. I AM not a WWE watcher but he proved himself in high school and college as far a very good wrestler. what aggrevate me about the haters is, after college, how else could he make the $ he made in WWE? except for the small percentage of atheletes that have the skill to go to the olympics or world games, college is pretty much the end of the road for wrestling. sucks but its true.

lol, his standup is untested, but he hit min soo kim with 2 or 3 really hard shots and he tapped.
also to the guy that said he's not a fighter? by the time his fight comes around, he would have been training just about 2 years. yeah it's not a lifetime, but given his athletic credidentials and his learning ability, i think he can improve and be a force, he's immensely strong too.

Didnt Koscheck get on TUF without having a single pro fight to his name? If he did, it was 2-0 record or something cause I'm pretty sure he got on that show based mostly off of his wrestling credintials.
Yes, he was a more sucessful wrestler than Lesnar, but still, people clamored to him because he was on TUF and couldnt wait to see him fight, even though he was unproven. Now he's a fan favorite and exciting to watch.
Why doesnt Lesnar get that same respect? Lesnar's the guy to watch out in the future.
I know Mir used to be a great fighter, he has been outta commission for a while. Would like to see how he would do. I personally am a Brock Lesnar Fan and would love to watch this fight...he's a power house, with a good wrestling background + he has trained for MMA for a while. I hope this is a great match.

Mir out of comission for a while? He fought in August and put the guy away in a little over a minute.
Lesnar has been training MMA for a while? 2 years, max. if 2 years of MMA could get anyone in the UFC, everyone would be a UFC fighter. Mir has been training 5 times longer than Lesnar at least. not to mention fighting REAL guys while brock was still hitting tools over the head with chairs.NASM Certified Personal Trainer

I can't believe how many people are giving him free credit he didn't earn.
Does everyone who wrestled at least a decade ago deserve a shot at the current Professional Heavy Weights?
I keep hearing the same thing "But he's STRONG!" And? How many strong people been taken down by smaller weaker opponents since 1993? Skill comes 10X's before muscle.
Hell, speed stanima flexibility skill and balance all come before muscle. What's he gonna do? Bench Press Mir to death while getting punched in the face? Is he gonna curl him to a decision? If all you needed was strength then all the Pros would ditch their trainers and take up full time powerlifting, 'don't need any of that skill crap, just gets in the way'.

Wrong.
If you compare their amateur experience Brock and Mir are probably about even in overall competition. Though Brock has yet to fight in the UFC, he fought in front of the largest MMA crowd ever in the US at the most recent Heroes event.
Brock has performed in front of more fans, more times than Mir ever will in his entire life. Anyone who thinks this fight is anything but lose/lose for Mir is kidding themselves. If he loses, he lost to a rookie and that's a shame. If he wins he beat a rookie, whoopti doo. For Brock it's all win/win against an opponent who suits his style PERFECTLY. Mir likes the bottom. x2. I'm a big fan of Lesnar and I think he has the tools to succeed in the UFC, but nobody really knows the extent of his MMA ability right now. I'm not making any bold predictions since I could very well end up w/my foot in my mouth. That said, I'll be right there w/ya in calling out all the haters on here if he performs well/wins, lol.
